Chemical Alliance LLC (ChemAlliance) has launched a plant for the production of liquid complex fertilizers with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per month in Zaporizhia region, owner of the company Vitaliy Popov has said.
“On July 1, we launched a plant for the production of liquid complex fertilizers with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per month in Zaporizhia region. Investments amounted to about $1 million,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Popov, now the company is looking for a site for the second, more powerful production, which is to be launched in the spring of 2020.
“We plan to build two more plants in different parts of Ukraine. Ideally, these are Zhytomyr and Poltava or Cherkasy. I hope that we will implement these projects by the end of 2020. In total, we will reach 30,000 tonnes of liquid complex fertilizers per month,” he noted.
Popov said that Ukrainian raw materials and those imported from the EU (50/50) are used for the production of fertilizers.
Chemical Alliance LLC (Poltava) was established in 2010. It is engaged in production and sale of liquid mineral fertilizers and sale of granular ones.
UDP Renewables of businessman Vasyl Khmelnytsky on March 1, 2019 launched its third solar power plant Scythia Solar 1 in Zaporizhia region with a power capacity of 13 MW. The company’s press service reported that investment in the project reached $10.1 million. The plant consists of 38,232 solar panels produced by JinkoSolar. It will allow generating nearly 16.2 GWh per year. The plant is located on an area of 20 ha.
EPC contractor is a Ukrainian group of companies KNESS. Financial partner of the project is Ukrgasbank (Kyiv). According to a posting on the website of UDP Renewables, it plans to boost the capacity of solar power plants from 24 MW to 175 MW this year.
As reported, in November 2018, UDP Renewables launched the 18.3 MW Free-Energy-Henichesk solar power plant in Kherson region. Investment totaled $18 million.
UDP Renewables currently also operates Dymerska Photovoltaic Power Plant 1 (Kyiv region) with a capacity of 6 MW.
UFuture Investment Group, headquartered in Brussels, was established in autumn 2017 and united the business projects of Khmelnytsky. The group includes the Ukrainian development company UDP, which core business is the implementation of large infrastructure projects.

Batkivschyna Party leader Yuliya Tymoshenko and Opposition Platform – For Life head Yuriy Boyko are the favorites among possible presidential candidates in Zaporizhia region, supported by 22.0% and 18.3% of the region’s residents who participated in a Sociological Group Rating survey. The poll was carried out from November 16 to December 2, 2018. Some 1,600 residents of the region were interviewed. The sample was formed taking into account the age and gender structure of the region, as well as the type of settlement. The margin of error of the survey does not exceed 2.4%.
Showman and Servant of the People Party leader Volodymyr Zelensky was supported by 14.1% respondents, followed by incumbent President Petro Poroshenko – 8.4%, Radical Party leader Oleh Lyashko – 7.5% and Ours Party leader Yevhen Murayev. Civil Position Party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko was supported by 5.1% of persons who participated in the survey.

DTEK has signed an agreement with the Danish manufacturer of wind turbines Vestas for building Orlivka wind power station (Prymorsky district, Zaporizhia region).
“The volume of investment in the project is about EUR140 million. We expect that the project will be completed by the end of 2019,” Maksym Tymchenko, DTEK’s director general, said during the signing of the contract.
The project, which envisages the construction of 26 wind turbines with a capacity of 3.8 MW each, is currently at the stage of completion of preparatory work. The main part of the construction work will begin in January 2019.
The capacity of the wind farm, which is the third project of the company in wind power, will provide electricity to about 200,000 households.
“We continue to implement our plans to increase the portfolio to 1,000 MW by the end of 2019, the total investment in these projects will exceed EUR 1 billion,” he said.
