UKRZALIZNYTSIA INCREASES CARGO TRANSPORTATION IN NOV

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia for 29 days of November 2020 increased the volume of cargo transportation by Ukrainian railways in all routes compared to the same period last year by 7%, to 27 million tonnes.
According to the company’s website, in domestic traffic, the volume of cargo transportation by rail amounted to 13 million tonnes, which is 21% more than in November 2019.
According to the company, the average daily loading in November amounted to 788,500 tonnes, which is almost 8% more than in November 2019. On average, 12,100 cars were loaded on the railway per day, which is almost 7% more than last year.
For 29 days of November 2020, Ukrzaliznytsia accelerated the turnover of a freight car by 32.7%, to 7.76 days. The average daily sectional speed of a freight train increased by more than 5% and amounted to 35.3 km/h.
During 29 days of November, Ukrzaliznytsia also improved the operating performance of its locomotive fleet: the average daily run of a locomotive increased by 5.1%, to 451 km, and the average daily performance of a locomotive improved by 4.3% compared to last year, to 1.201 million tonne-kilometers gross.
The company noted that such indicators were achieved, first of all, due to improved dispatching, liquidation of the shortage of locomotives and transparent playing conditions in the transportation market.
“There is no longer a situation when someone at the station decides whether this or that cargo will go or not. Now all shippers are in equal conditions. Today we transport 100% of the declared cargo and there are plans only to increase the rate and volume of traffic,” the report says.
As reported, next year Ukrzaliznytsia plans to increase the share of its own cars on the market to 35-40%.

THE SEAPORTS OF UKRAINE IN JANUARY-OCTOBER 2020 HANDLED 132.05 MILLION TONNES OF CARGO

The seaports of Ukraine in January-October 2020 handled 132.05 million tonnes of cargo, which is 2.2 million tonnes more than in the same period in 2019.
According to the results of the reporting period, the transshipment of export cargo increased to 101.36 million tonnes (+ 3.8%), cabotage – up to 2.07 million tonnes (+ 23.3%), the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported with reference to minister Vladyslav Krykliy on Friday.
Above all, the ports handled grain cargo and ore – 39.4 million tonness and 37.2 million tonnes, respectively. At the same time, the transshipment of ore in 10 months of the current year has grown by 22.3%, ferrous metals – by 9.5%, oils – by 4.6%, and oil fuel – 2.4 times.
Transshipment of containers has reached 869,500 TEU and exceeded the last year’s figure by 7.1%.

SEAPORTS OF UKRAINE INCREASE CARGO HANDLING IN NINE MONTHS

The seaports of Ukraine in January-September 2020 handled, according to recent data, 118.78 million tonnes of cargo, which is 3.7% more compared to the same period in 2019.
According to the latest information on the website of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, transshipment of exported cargo increased to 91.1 million tonnes (5.6% more), cabotage cargo to 1.8 million tonnes (31% more), and transshipment of imported goods decreased to 18 million tonnes (3.1% less), transit to 7.7 million tonnes (5.5% less).
The leaders in terms of transshipment volumes are ore and grain. During this period, the first place was occupied by grain cargo, the transshipment of which amounted to 35.3 million tonnes.
Ore ranked second with the amount of 33.8 million tonnes, which is 25.5% more than the same indicator of the previous year.
Transshipment of ferrous metals increased by 8.9%, to 12.86 million tonnes, oil by 5.6% in the volume of 4.49 million tonnes, and oil by 2.8 times, with a processing volume of 1.6 million tonnes.
Transshipment of containers reached 772,900 TEU and exceeded the last year’s figure by 8.3%.

UKRAINE’S SEAPORTS INCREASE CARGO HANDLING

he seaports of Ukraine in January-August 2020, according to recent data, handled more than 105.77 million tonnes of cargo, which is 5% more compared to the same period in 2019.

According to information on the website of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, transshipment of exported cargo increased to 80.8 million tonnes (5.4% more), imported cargo to 16.1 million tonnes (0.9% more), transit to 7.3 million tonnes (4.6% more), cabotage goods to 1.6 million tonnes (30.8% more).

Grain became the leader in terms of transshipment volumes for the specified period, the transshipment of which amounted to 30.7 million tonnes.

Ore ranked second with 30.2 million tonnes, which is 27.5% more than the same indicator of the previous year.

Pig iron transshipment increased by 49.8%, to 2.3 million tonnes, oil transshipment increased by 4.1%, to 4 million tonnes, crude oil by 2.5 times with a processing volume of 1.4 million tonnes over the specified period.

Transshipment of containers reached 690,600 TEU and exceeded the last year’s figure by 9.2%.
