PROFIT OF PRIVATBANK DOWN BY 44.5% IN H1 2022

The profit of state-owned PrivatBank (Kyiv) amounted to UAH 6.3 billion in January-June 2022, which is 44.5% less than in the same period last year (UAH 11.6 billion), the bank’s press service reported on Thursday.
“We ended the first half of the year with a profit, but we are aware that a difficult period lies ahead. Today, it is impossible to foresee all the risks, but PrivatBank entered the war in excellent financial shape and is doing everything to ensure stability under martial law,” the press service quoted first deputy head of the board Anna Samarina.
According to the report, the amount of lost income during the war period is estimated by the bank at more than UAH 5.5 billion.
It is indicated that in the first six months of 2022, the bank formed UAH 6.9 billion in reserves to cover credit risks.
Also among the main expenses of the bank is the transfer of information systems to cloud architecture, despite the fact that the savings in the total budget of expenses amounted to 11%.
According to the press service, since the beginning of the year, the bank’s loan portfolio (excluding loans related to previous owners) has increased by 16%: individuals received UAH 3.5 billion, and legal entities UAH 9.1 billion.
Funds on deposits increased by UAH 61 billion, or 19% since the beginning of the year, while term deposits decreased by 12.6%, and current account balances of customers increased by 34%, or by UAH 73.8 billion.
In addition, in the first half of the year, the bank transferred more than UAH 70 million to charity for targeted assistance to the defenders of Ukraine.

UKRAINIANS RECEIVE $100 MLN IN FISCAL AID REMITTANCES FROM INTL ORGANIZATIONS THROUGH PRIVATBANK

Ukrainians have received 800,000 aid remittances totaling $100 million from international organizations, the bank’s press service reported on Monday.

According to the report, most of the payments came from the UN World Food Program, the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

According to the statistics of the National Bank of Ukraine, as of April 1, 2022, PrivatBank ranked first (UAH 592.38 billion) among 69 banks operating in the country in terms of total assets.

Ukrainians receive $85 mln worth of transfers through PrivatBank, Western Union from UN WFP

KYIV. June 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainians have received more than 600,000 transfers worth $85 million through the state-owned PrivatBank (Kyiv) and the Western Union international payment system from the UN World Food Program (WFP), the bank’s press service reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, 95% of transfers were received online to a PrivatBank card.

The press service recalled that in May, the UN WFF began disbursing cash assistance to internally displaced persons in Ukraine through Western Union. The amount of assistance is UAH 2,220 per person and up to UAH 6,660 per family.

PRIVATBANK WILL LEND FOR PURCHASE OF AGRICULTURAL, COMMERCIAL EQUIPMENT FOR UAH 500 MLN

State-controlled PrivatBank (Kyiv) on May 9 began accepting applications for financing the purchase of fixed assets for a total amount of UAH 500 million, which include agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles and special equipment.
The launch of the corresponding program was announced in a press release from the financial institution.
The bank also announced the completion on May 13 of the Agroseason lending program for agricultural producers, carried out to finance the 2022 sowing campaign under the state program 5-7-9% with interest compensation.
It is specified that over 2,400 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises and farmers have already received loans for UAH 6 billion.
PrivatBank clarified that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by resolution No. 28 set the deadline for issuing loans for the sowing campaign until May 31, 2022. Since the bank is currently processing more than 2,000 loan applications, it will limit the acceptance of applications on May 13 in order to have time to process those already received before the deadline set by the government.
The financial institution recalled that under the terms of the state program, lending was available to Ukrainian agricultural producers for a period of six months with compensation from the state up to 0% per annum in the amount of up to UAH 60 million.
As reported, Ukrainian banking institutions for the period from mid-March to May 5 provided loans to farmers under the state program to support the sowing campaign in 2022 for a total of UAH 19.82 billion, including loans and portfolio guarantees for the week of April 28-May 5 for UAH 4.87 billion.

PRIVATBANK ISSUES UAH 6 BLN IN LOANS TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS FOR SOWING CAMPAIGN

State-controlled PrivatBank (Kyiv) issued UAH 6 billion in loans to 2,300 agricultural producers for the sowing campaign, the bank’s press service reported on Saturday.
“Ukrainian agricultural enterprises and farmers have already received UAH 6 billion of preferential loans for sowing from PrivatBank. Funding for spring work has been provided to 2,300 farms under the state program of preferential lending to agricultural producers,” the report says.
As reported, PrivatBank began issuing agricultural loans under the state support program on March 24. The program provides loans in the amount of up to UAH 5 million without collateral and insurance, as well as interest rate compensation, due to which customers pay 0% per annum with a one-time commission payment of up to 1% of the loan amount.
In order to receive a loan in the amount of more than UAH 5 million, the agricultural producer must additionally pledge agricultural machinery, which will provide at least 20% of the loan amount.

LARGEST BANK IN UKRAINE PRIVATBANK AGAIN ANNOUNCES TECHNOLOGICAL PAUSE IN OPERATION OF PRIVAT24 SYSTEM

On April 18, the State PrivatBank will introduce a technological pause in making payments through Privat24 from 23:00 to 8:00 on Monday for the third week in a row for technical work, the bank said on Sunday.
“PrivatBank from 23:00 on April 17 to 8:00 on April 18 is carrying out the next stage of scheduled maintenance work in Privat24 (…) During the work, the applications and the web version of Privat24 will not be available,” the financial institution said.
It is noted that settlements in the trading network and ATMs will work as usual.
As reported, PrivatBank held a technical pause a week earlier, scheduled from 23:00 on April 10 to 8:00 on April 11, which was extended until 6:00 on April 12. The bank also suspended the operation of services from March 20 to 21 to introduce reserve capacities.
