RETAIL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE INCREASES BY 7.4% IN JAN-MARCH

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in comparable prices in January-March 2019 increased by 7.4% compared to January-March 2018, to UAH 235.804 billion the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, in March 2019 retail trade turnover compared with February 2019 increased by 13.9%, and compared with March 2018 it grew by 8.9%.
The largest increase in the retail trade turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-March 2019 compared with January-March 2018 was recorded in Kyiv and Vinnysia (each by 11.7% compared to the same period in 2018), Lviv (by 9.7%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 9.3%), Odesa (by 9.2%), Kharkiv (by 9%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 8.2%), Ternopil (by 8.1%), Kherson, Zakarapattia and Donetsk (by 8%) regions.
The leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail turnover in the first three months were: Kyiv city (UAH 45.055 billion), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 22.210 billion), Kharkiv (UAH 19.148 billion), Kyiv (UAH 16.828 billion), Odesa (UAH 16.734 billion), and Lviv (UAH 14.724 billion) regions.
According to statistics, in Donetsk region, retail trade turnover in January-March increased 8% (to UAH 7.498 billion), Luhansk – by 4% (to UAH 2.198 billion).
The State Statistics Service said that the turnover of retail enterprises (legal entities) in March 2019 compared with March 2018 increased by 9.5%, and compared to February 2019 by 13.9%, to UAH 61.493 billion. In January-March 2019, the turnover of retail enterprises rose by 8.2%, to UAH 170.695 billion.
The wholesale turnover of enterprises in January-March 2019 compared with January-March 2018 decreased by 5.5% and amounted to UAH 500.32 billion.
As reported, the retail trade turnover of Ukraine in 2018 increased by 6.1%.
The State Statistics Service noted that the data are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the area of the joint forces operation.

TRADE TURNOVER BETWEEN UKRAINE AND INDIA AMOUNTS TO $2.3 BLN IN JAN-OCT 2018

Trade turnover between Ukraine and India in January-October 2018 amounted to $2.3 billion, of which $1.5 billion was the cost of sunflower oil, First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv has said. “India ranks first in terms of exports of Ukrainian goods to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and is the fifth largest buyer of Ukrainian products among countries in the world,” he wrote on Facebook.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade said on Twitter the Ukrainian delegation headed by Kubiv on January 11-13 is on a working visit to India to participate in the 25th international summit “New India: Rising to Global Occasions.”

CITY OF KYIV WITH KYIV REGION, DNIPROPETROVSK, KHARKIV AND ODESA AMOUNT TO 51% OF TOTAL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE

Ukraine’s retail trade in January-June 2018 increased by 6.2%.
Four regions (City of Kyiv with Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region, Kharkiv region and Odesa region) amount to 51% of total trade turnover.
Luhansk and Ternopil are on the last places.
In June 2018 alone, retail trade decreased by 0.8% compared to May 2018, but it grew by 6.3% compared to June 2017.

UKRAINE-BELARUS TRADE TURNOVER REACHES $370 MLN IN JAN-FEB 2018

The volume of trade between Ukraine and Belarus in January-February 2018 reached $370 million, Ambassador of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol has said.
“The growth of Ukrainian exports to Belarus outpaces the growth of Belarusian exports to Ukraine: if Belarus’ exports to Ukraine grow by 20-25%, then Ukrainian exports rise by 40-50%,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to the official, the growth of trade turnover between Ukraine and Belarus in 2017 was 20% and reached $4.6 billion.
Ukraine in the past year in terms of commodity turnover and exports ranked second among all trade partners of Belarus, in imports it ranked fifth.
“In turn, Belarus ranked fourth in the rating of the largest export markets of Ukraine. Belarusian exports increased by 18%, imports from Ukraine by almost 24%,” he added.
Sokol announced that the Made in Belarus exhibition of Belarusian producers will take place in the International Exhibition Center (Kyiv) on April 10-14, 2018. It is planned to present the achievements of 53 leading Belarusian companies in the sphere of machine building, petrochemistry, agriculture, food and light industry. Within the framework of the exhibition the “Belarus-Ukraine: Prospects of Cooperation” conference will be held.
