Machinery and equipment production in Ukraine for January–September 2026 increased by 36.5% compared to the same period in 2025, marking one of the highest growth rates among industrial sectors, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Derzhstat) reported on November 3.
According to the agency, significant positive growth was also recorded in the production of computers, electronic, and optical products, where output volumes rose by 17.1%.
At the same time, the production of electrical equipment saw a 17.8% decline, indicating uneven performance across different segments of the machine-building industry.
Enterprises in the food and chemical industries also posted positive results for the first nine months. Food production increased by 2.8%, and chemical production by 2.7%, compared to the same period in 2025.
The growth in the machine-building and electronics sectors occurred against the backdrop of an overall 1.9% decline in industrial production in Ukraine over the nine-month period.
At the same time, in September 2026, industrial production fell by 9.2% compared to September of the previous year, following a 6.1% decline in August.
Thus, companies specializing in the production of machinery, equipment, and electronic products are performing significantly better than the industry as a whole.
At the same time, these indices reflect changes in physical production volumes compared to the corresponding period last year and do not allow for determining, without additional data, the absolute value of output or its share in total industrial production.
As previously reported, industrial production in Ukraine declined by 1.7% in 2025, whereas it had grown by 4.7% in 2024.
The data excludes temporarily occupied territories and parts of the country where hostilities are ongoing or have taken place.
