The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed the export of 100 thousand tons of coal, which is planned to be delivered to Poland.
Taras Melnichuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, said on Telegram that a corresponding change was made at a government meeting on Friday in the list of goods whose exports and imports will be subject to licensing, and quotas for 2022.
Earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that at the request of the Polish side, Ukraine is ready to consider the possibility of opening a quota for the export of 100,000 tons of coal.
He specified that coal reserves in the warehouses of Ukrainian power plants amount to almost 2 million tons, which is 2.5 times more than a year ago. “Therefore, we are ready to lend a shoulder of support to our Polish friends,” he stressed.
As reported, since mid-June 2022, Ukraine has set zero quotas for the export of all types of coal, except for coking coal, and on September 7, it completely banned the export of Ukrainian coal.
According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine’s coal exports for eight months of 2022 amounted to 523.863 thousand tons for $166.667 million, incl. to Slovakia – by $108.295 million, Poland – by $35.028 million, Hungary – by $20.779 million, other countries – by $2.565 million.

Ukraine reduced imports of petroleum products by 13.5%

In January-August 2022, Ukraine imported 4 million 564.904 thousand tons of oil products (according to the HS code 2710: gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc.), which is 13.5% less than in the same period last year (5 million 277.684 thousand tons).
According to the State Customs Service, oil products were imported in the amount of $5 billion 231.597 million, which is 69.5% more than in January-August 2021 ($3 billion 86.632 million).
Belarus imported fuel for $793.511 million (share – 15.17%), Russia – for $590.393 million (11.29%), India – for $553.213 million (10.57%), other countries – for $3 billion 294.48 million (62.97%). For eight months of 2021, the total cost share of fuel from Belarus and the Russian Federation in imports was 65%.
In addition, Ukraine exported 54.455 thousand tons (-77.6% compared to January-August-2021) of oil products for a total of $61.854 million (-52.2%) in eight months. The cost of fuel delivered to counterparties from Lithuania amounted to $16.342 million, Turkey – $11.533 million, Estonia – $6.022 million, other countries – $27.957 million.
As reported, Ukraine imported 8 million 790.515 thousand tons of oil products in 2021, which is 9.6% more than in 2020 (8 million 23.072 thousand tons).
Oil products were imported in the amount of $5 billion 614.787 million, which is 65.3% more than in 2020 ($3 billion 396.929 million). Incl. Belarus imported fuel for $2 billion 351.116 million (share – 41.87%), Russia – for $1 billion 240.513 million (22.09%), Lithuania – for $654.584 million (11.66%), other countries – for $1 billion 368.574 million (24.37%).

Zhydachevsky Pulp and Paper Mill increased production by 30.1%

Zhydachevsky Pulp and Paper Mill (ZhTsBK, Lviv region), which is part of the Osnova holding, in January-August 2022 increased its production by 30.1% compared to the same period in 2021, to UAH 333.47 million.
According to the statistics provided to the Interfax-Ukraine agency by the UkrPapir Association, thus, following the results of eight months, the plant slightly slowed down the growth rate of this indicator compared to the same period last year (for six months it was 40%, for seven – 35, one%)
In real terms, the production of corrugated boxes continues to maintain stable positive dynamics, having increased by a third – up to 12.7 million square meters. m. At the same time, the output of containerboard (including corrugated paper) decreased by 9.3% to 8.6 thousand tons.
At the same time, a significant reduction in the production of paper remains – by 38.4%, to 2.75 thousand tons.
As reported, in January-August, taking into account the fact that a number of enterprises in the industry were either destroyed or damaged or located in the occupied territory, the production of paper and cardboard decreased by 43.2% compared to the same period last year – to 336, 7 thousand tons, corrugated packaging – by 42.2%, up to 282.3 million square meters. m.
At the same time, the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of corrugated packaging, Rubezhsky CPC, was damaged and stopped, but its subsidiary in the Kyiv region, the Trypilsky Packaging Plant, continues to work. According to UkrPapir, in eight months it produced products worth UAH 1.31 billion, and corrugated packaging produced 78.5 million square meters. m (the second indicator after the Kyiv KBK).
ZhPPM with the beginning of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, like many enterprises in the industry, suspended work due to a break in supply chains and a danger to employees. However, production was resumed in March.
According to the association, another plant in the structure of the holding “Osnova” – Izmail pulp and cardboard (Odessa region) in January-August increased the volume of marketable products by 6.5% – up to UAH 148.7 million. In physical terms, the output of containerboard decreased by one third to 5.4 thousand tons, corrugated packaging by 44%, to 7.7 million square meters. m.

Kyivstar invested UAH 200 million in Internet acceleration up to 1 Gbps

The largest Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar has invested UAH 200 million in upgrading the Internet network to a speed of 1 Gbit / s and now it is available with such parameters in seven cities of Ukraine – Kyiv, Dnipro, Lvov, Starokonstantinov, Vladimir, Truskavets and Slavuta.
“In total, this year it is planned to cover 10 more cities with a gigabit network,” the company said in a statement on Friday.
According to him, over the past six months, Kyivstar has also expanded the Home Internet service to 355 new houses with more than 44,000 apartments.
This service has also become available in Dubno (Rivne region), and by the end of the year it will appear in five more cities, the release notes.
The company noted that the network damaged as a result of hostilities has already been completely repaired in the de-occupied territories in Chernihiv, Nizhyn, Irpen, Akhtyrka and in the cities that are under shelling – Krivoy Rog, Zelenodolsk. In addition, 99% of the network in Nikolaev, 94% in Kharkov and 81% in Nikopol are maintained in working order.
In addition, as part of social initiatives, the Internet was connected in 1279 bomb shelters and shelters, as well as in 442 modular houses for internally displaced persons.
The company plans to connect 6 more modular towns by the end of the year, as well as connect WI-FI in dozens of shelters in schools.

Kokhavinskaya paper mill maintained a 40% increase in production volume

Kokhavinskaya paper mill (KBF, Lviv region), which produces sanitary and hygienic paper products (TM “Kokhavinka”), in January-August 2022, produced products worth UAH 601.5 million, which is 40% more than in the same period of 2021 of the year.
According to the statistics of the association “UkrPapir”, provided to the agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, thus, the factory has practically retained the rate of increase in production volumes, recorded for seven months (40.1%).
In natural terms, the production of base paper for sanitary and hygienic products increased by 3% – up to 27.3 thousand tons.
At the same time, the production of toilet paper in rolls increased by 16.4% – up to 87.2 million pieces, which remains the second largest indicator after the Kyiv KBK (221.6 million pieces).
In general, the main enterprises of the industry during this period produced 383.5 million rolls (-16.8% compared to January-August 2021).
KBF, which has been operating since 1939, produces base paper for sanitary and hygienic products, as well as toilet paper and paper towels. The capacity of paper machines is 19 thousand tons per year, processing equipment is 90 million rolls per year.
The factory has practically not stopped production since the beginning of this year.
KBF in 2021, according to UkrPapir, increased the volume of production of marketable products by 13% compared to 2020 – up to UAH 673.7 million. Net profit decreased by 29% – to UAH 60 million.
