KOVALSKA GROUP TO PURCHASE ONE OF THE LARGEST MANUFACTURERS OF AERATED CONCRETE IN UKRAINE

JSC Kovalska Reinforced Concrete Structures Plant, part of Kovalska Industrial and Construction Group, has received permission to purchase Energy Product LLC, one of the largest manufacturers of aerated concrete in Ukraine, and intends to complete the deal by late September this year, the press service of group has told Interfax-Ukraine.
“This transaction is one of the largest in Ukraine in the construction market. We, as the market leaders, are interested in diversifying our business lines, expanding our regions and developing new types of construction materials. The aerated concrete market has a high development potential. This asset will allow us to further satisfy the needs of clients in assortment. According to the group’s strategy, we plan to continue expansion in the southern and western regions,” Serhiy Pylypenko, the director general of Kovalska Group, said.
Energy Product LLC (Nova Kakhovka) was established in 2013 and is the fourth largest producer of aerated concrete in Ukraine. The plant’s capacity is 450-500 cubic meters of aerated concrete per year.
Kovalska Industrial and Construction Group has been operating in the construction market of Ukraine since 1956. The company is the leading manufacturer of construction materials, the developer and builder of Ukraine.

UKRAINE UPDATES CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS ON ENERGY EFFICIENT HOUSING

The updated national standards for construction of houses with energy efficiency class of no lower than C will take effect on December 1, 2019, the press service of Deputy Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Economy Minister Lev Partskhaladze has reported.
According to the changes, the mandatory design of residential buildings and built-in premises with an energy efficiency class of at least C is outlined in the national construction standards, and also taking into account the requirements of the national construction standard B.2.6-31: 2016 “Thermal Insulation of Houses.” The standard applies to new construction and reconstruction.
The new requirements will save up to 40% of heat in these houses, Partskhaladze said.
The new national construction standard B.2.2-15: 2019 “Residential Buildings. Key Provisions” was developed by the specialists of PJSC Ukrainian Zonal Research and Project Institute for Civil Engineering to replace the outdated 2005 requirement.
As reported, from December 1, 2018, new national construction standards on the introduction of European requirements for facade thermal insulation, which save up to 15% of heat annually, entered into force.

NEW UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT ZELENSKY TO VISIT U.S. ON SEPTEMBER 23

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the United States on September 23 to take part in the UN General Assembly, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said.
“You know we’re going to the U.S. on September 23,” Prystaiko said at a joint press conference with Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu in Kyiv on Monday.
The date of Zelensky’s visit to Washington to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump will be announced soon, he said.

UKRAINE’S INTERNATIONAL RESERVES RISES IN AUGUST 2019 TO $22 BLN

Ukraine’s international reserves in August 2019, according to preliminary data, rose by 0.8%, to $22.015 billion.
“They have not changed much during the month due to the fact that the National Bank’s net purchase of foreign currency in the interbank market offset the cost of repaying and servicing the state debt,” the NBU said.

GLOBUS (PART OF AUSTRIA’S VIENNA INSURANCE GROUP) SEES 16% RISE IN PREMIUM COLLECTION IN UKRAINE

Kyiv-based Globus ALC through January-June 2019 collected UAH 241 million in insurance premiums that is 16% more than over the same period a year ago.
As the company said on its website, through six months of 2019 it signed 23,621 insurance agreements and paid UAH 44.3 million in claims.
As of June 30, 2019, charter capital of Globus was UAH 69.40 million, assets totaled UAH 541.1 million, insurance reserves made up for UAH 389.7 million.
Globus Additional Liability Insurance Society was established in 1994. Since 1994, it has been a member of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine (LIOU), an associated member of the Motor Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) since 1999, a full member of the MTIBU since 2005, a member of Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine (ULIE) since 2003.
Globus is a part of Austria’s Vienna Insurance Group.

UKRAINE INCREASES EXPORT OF POULTRY TO $401.78 MLN

Ukraine in January-August 2019 exported 275,470 tonnes of poultry, which is 28.4% more than in the same period in 2018, the State Fiscal Service has reported.
According to its data, in monetary terms exports of these products increased by 20.4%, to $401.78 million.
Poultry and offal imports for the seven months fell by 4.4%, to 82,200 tonnes, in monetary terms by 3.7%, to $32.86 million.
According to the State Fiscal Service, exports of pork in January-August 2019 rose by 4.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2018, to 1,410 tonnes. In monetary terms exports of this product amounted to $3.13 million compared with $2.96 million a year ago.
Pork imports to Ukraine during this period grew by 3.9%, to 16,330 tonnes. The country received this meat for a total of $31.1 million compared with $29.5 million in January-August 2019.
