REMITTANCES TO UKRAINE TOTAL $1.2 BLN IN H1 – NATIONAL BANK

The volume of remittances to Ukraine via the money transfer systems in H1 2018 totaled $1.2 billion in the equivalent and from Ukraine – $140 million, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on its website. According to the report, over the period remittances inside Ukraine accounted for UAH 69.4 billion.
As reported, the volume of money transfers to Ukraine through money transfer systems in 2017 decreased by 4.4% and amounted to $2.378 billion, from Ukraine – by 18.8%, to $286 million, while within Ukraine it increased by 21.4%, to $4.456 billion.
As of the beginning of July 2018, out of 37 money transfer systems that operated in Ukraine, 31 systems transferred funds within Ukraine and 12 systems provided cross-border transfer services.
The bulk of remittances within Ukraine is provided by systems created by resident non-bank institutions. At the same time, 11 these systems together carried out about 92% of all transfers.

BIOPHARMA PLANS TO OPEN PLASMA CENTERS IN KHARKIV, DNIPRO, CHERKASY

Biopharma, a blood products maker, intends by the end of 2018 to open two plasma centers in Kharkiv and one in Dnipro, it is also planned to build a center in Cherkasy, President of Biopharma Kostiantyn Yefymenko has told Interfax-Ukraine. “Now we are engaged in the construction of two plasma centers in Kharkiv. We have already rented premises with an area of 700 square meters and plan to rent another facility with an area of 1,500 square meters. We are also planning to build one more center in Dnipro, where we have already rented premises (733 sq m) and Cherkasy. In time, we will build in other regional centers,” he said.
Yefymenko said that at present conceptual projects, construction projects have been approved for plasma centers in Kharkiv and the Dnipro, permissions have been obtained and dismantling work commenced.
“We plan to launch our first center in Kharkiv in autumn, in Dnipro in December,” he noted.
Biopharma, which currently collects about 4 tonnes of blood plasma per month, expects that the opening of new plasma centers in the first quarter of 2019 will increase the amount of plasma collection to 20 tonnes a month. Biopharma is one of the ten largest Ukrainian producers of medicines. It produces more than 20 immunobiological preparations from donor blood, preparations obtained by recombinant DNA technology and probiotics.

AIR MOLDOVA RESUMES ROUTE CHISINAU-KYIV

Air Moldova will resume flights on the route Chisinau-Kyiv from August 1 of this year, according to a press release from Boryspil International Airport. Kyiv-Chisinau flights will be carried out six times a week (except for Saturday) with departure from Kyiv at 17:10, and starting from September 22 daily. The route will be serviced by Airbus A319 aircraft with 134 seats and Embraer E190 with 111 seats. Business and economy class seats, board meals and free registration will be available for passengers.
In general, the airline serves 28 routes in Europe and the Middle East.
As reported, in July this year Moldova put Air Moldova on sale. Earlier, Air Moldova started flights from Chisinau to Kyiv and Odesa on October 26, 2015. Air Moldova is the national carrier of Moldova, based at Chisinau International Airport. It has a fleet of Embraer 190 and Airbus 320 aircraft.

WIMEXIM BUILDS BIOGAS PLANT IN ODESA REGION, PLANS TO BUILD FOUR MORE PLANTS

A new biogas plant would start operating in the coming month in Okny district of Odesa region, Deputy Head of Odesa Regional Administration Svitlana Shatalova has written on her Facebook page. She said that at present the startup work is being conducted at the plant, which construction cost EUR 17 million.
“They want to build four more,” the official said. According to the Okny District Administration, the plant was designed to treat waste and silage into biogas for the production of electric and heat energy. The capacity of the complex will be 5 MW. It will create 25 jobs.
The sole founder of Wimexim Trade House with a statutory fund of almost UAH 29 million is Cyprus KO Biogas Development Company Ltd.
