POULTRY PRODUCER AGROMARS WANTS TO BUILD PLANT FOR PROCESSING BIO WASTE

Agromars Complex LLC (Kyiv region) intends to build a plant for processing bio waste, according to the company’s website. “We discussed the design and construction of a bio waste processing plant with the leadership of the German company Kablitz. We agreed to build a plant for processing chicken manure with other waste to generate heat and electricity,” deputy technical director of the company Oleksandr Surmach said.
The company said the plant would process 330 tonnes of manure per day, producing 4.4 MWh of heat and 6.2 MWh of electricity. The preliminary construction period of the facility is about two years. The payback period is three or four years. For the construction of the plant, Agromars plans to raise funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. “Agromars plans to sell electricity to the state at a feed-in tariff. Today the German company is preparing a commercial offer. In the near future, we will sign a cooperation agreement,” the company said.
Agromars is the second largest producer of poultry in Ukraine (the Havrylivski Kurchata brand), a vertically integrated holding with a closed production cycle.

GERMAN-JAPANESE ENGINEERING COMPANY SUMITOMO ELECTRIC BORDNETZE WILL OPEN ONE MORE AUTOMOBILE WIRING PLANT IN UKRAINE

The German-Japanese engineering company Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze (SEBN) plans in two months to open the first stage of a plant for production of automotive electrical wiring in the premises of Khmelnytsky Mechanical Plant purchased by the investor. According to the website of Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration, today some of the premises have been repaired, there is already the management of the plant, employees are being hired. According to SEBN representatives, it is planned by the end of the year to create 500 new jobs, and with the expansion of production their number will grow to 2,000 people.
“PrJSC Khmelnytsky Mechanical Plant was included in the list of debtors, but with the assistance of local authorities it became possible to resolve the issues and sign an amicable agreement, which contributed to the rapid purchase of the object by Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze,” the report says.
As reported, Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze, the cable network manufacturer for Volkswagen Concern, opened the first Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze-Ukraine plant in the village of Baikivtsi in Ternopil region (the number of employees is 4,400) in 2006.

SKYUP WILL EXPAND FLEET TO FOUR AIRCRAFT

SkyUp airline plans to expand its own fleet by two new medium-haul Boeing 737-700s by the end of 2018, as well as to get one wide-body Airbus A330 into wet leasing. “In the near future, we expect to get the second airplane [Airbus A330], just like our first one, into wet leasing. Sky Up will not operate in a “dry” form wide-body aircraft in the next two or three years. This is outside the company’s strategy,” Commercial Director of Join UP! tour operator Oleksandr Alba said at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, this year the company will replenish its own fleet of aircraft with two Boeing 737-700s, one of them will be received in the near future, the second one by the end of 2018.
He said now Sky Up planes perform flights to Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Albania, Georgia, and Montenegro.
“In the near future we will open sales on domestic flights, as well as on regular foreign flights,” he said, adding that the launch of regular flights is expected by the end of this summer.

WORLD’S LARGEST EXPORTER OF SUNFLOWER OIL KERNEL RAISES OIL SALES BUT CUTS GRAIN SALES IN 2018

Kernel, one of the largest Ukrainian agricultural groups, in the fiscal year of 2018 (FY, July-June), reduced grain sales by 8.2% compared to the previous FY, to 4.646 million tonnes. According to the company’s website, sales of bulk sunflower oil in the 2018 FY increased by 20.1%, to 1.301 million tonnes, bottled sunflower oil decreased by 9.7%, to 118.6 million liters.
During this period, the holding processed 3.136 million tonnes of sunflower seeds, which is 6% more than in the 2017 FY.
In April-June of the 2018 FY sales of bulk oil increased by 37.3%, to 386,640 tonnes, bottled sunflower oil decreased by 16.3%, to 32.8 million liters compared to the same period last year.
Grain sales in the fourth quarter of the 2018 FY rose by 64.3% over the same period last FY, to 1.573 million tonnes.
Grain transshipment at the group’s export terminals in the 2018 FY decreased by 0.6%, to 6.06 million tonnes, in the fourth quarter it increased by 12.6%, to 1.61 million tonnes.
Kernel is the world’s largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil, the leading producer and supplier of agricultural products from the Black Sea region to the world markets.
