Education workers, unvaccinated from COVID-19 until November, will be suspended from work, the Ministry of Health quoted its Minister Viktor Liashko as saying.
“Teachers are included in the list of professions whose representatives must be vaccinated for full-fledged work. If education workers are not vaccinated against COVID-19 by November, they will be suspended from work for a period of quarantine without pay,” the Ministry of Health said.
“Vaccination for teachers is an opportunity not only to continue to work and provide high-quality knowledge to students. First of all, it is about protecting their lives and health, the safety of children,” the minister stressed.
As reported, the Ministry of Health, by its order No. 2153 of October 4, approved the list of organizations whose representatives are subject to mandatory vaccination against COVID-19.
The joint statement following the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit recognizes the importance of further strengthening cooperation in countering hybrid threats and tackling disinformation.
According to the text of the statement published on the website of the President’s Office of Ukraine, the EU will continue to support Ukraine’s resilience, including through the strengthening of independent media and the regulatory environment, as well as sharing best practices on media freedom and literacy, strategic communications and supporting Ukrainian initiatives to tackle disinformation.
“We underlined the important role played by civil society, youth and independent media in all areas of public and political life, also in the context of disinformation campaigns against the EU and Ukraine, including notably by Russia,” the officials said in the joint statement.
The holding of the first cyber dialogue between Ukraine and the EU on June 3, 2021 is also encouraged, and the next round is expected in the second quarter of 2022.
“We emphasized the importance of deepening inter-institutional cooperation on cybersecurity,” according to the statement.
Ukraine will begin to implement an energy saving program next year, about UAH 300 billion is currently needed for implementation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
“This program [on energy saving] has been developed in absolute detail […] We see that this program can be implemented, and we will definitely implement it with the support of specialists and financial assistance from the European Union. In any case, we will start doing this next year. We cannot wait when our neighbor [Russia] threatens us with a shutdown or reduction in gas volumes,” Zelensky said during a briefing following the 23rd Ukraine-EU summit with President of the European Council Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
He said that Ukraine should be truly energetically independent.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine currently needs about UAH 300 billion to implement this program.
The “Safety Seal” for hotels with fully vaccinated personnel will be introduced by the end of 2021, head of the State Agency for Tourism Development Maryana Oleskiv told Interfax-Ukraine.
According to her, the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine has developed a draft act of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the approval of the procedure for the implementation of the pilot project “Safety Certificate of Accommodation Facilities”.
This Procedure establishes the regulation for monitoring and evaluating accommodation facilities (hotels) in accordance with the Temporary Recommendations for the organization of anti-epidemiological measures in hotels during the quarantine period due to the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), approved by the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine dated May 12, 2020 No. 22.
“Now the draft act is being approved by the structural divisions of State Agency for Tourism Development. It is tentatively assumed that the implementation of the pilot project will begin by the end of 2021,” Oleskiv said.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin plans to visit Ukraine next week, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said at a briefing on Tuesday.
“Secretary [Austin] and his team will be preparing for a trip to Europe next week. Stops will include Georgia, Ukraine and Romania and it will conclude this important visit with allies and partners in Brussels for the NATO defense ministerial,” he said.
The meeting of the heads of defense departments of NATO countries in Brussels is scheduled for October 21-22.
In September, the mobile operator lifecell connected 377 more settlements to 4G, where a total of 134,000 people live.
According to the company’s press service on Monday, out of the indicated number of settlements in 376 settlements up to 5,000 people live and in one – up to 25,000 people.
The operator also notes that as of the end of September, the operator’s 4G coverage is available in 12,889 settlements, where more than 28 million Ukrainians live.
With the network roll-out, the consumption of mobile Internet has also increased: last month lifecell subscribers used 56% more 4G traffic on an annual basis.
In September, lifecell users spent 11% more time on social networks, 31% more watched videos on YouTube and 42% more often communicated in instant messengers, compared to the same period in 2020.
At the same time, Ukrainians did not cut their calls to each other: the amount of voice traffic in lifecell network grew by 6% on an annual basis.
In Ukraine, lifecell is the third largest mobile operator.
