PAPER AND BOARD COMPANY SEES 13% RISE IN PRODUCTION

Paper and Board Company (Lviv), the producer of packaging cardboard tubes and hygienic paper products, in January-March 2019 saw a 12.9% rise in production year-over-year, to UAH 151.7 million.
According to the Ukrpapir association, the company increased production of base paper for hygienic paper products by 6% over the period, to 1,530 tonnes, production of box cardboard fell by 9.25, to 5,910 tonnes.
Toilet paper output grew by 23%, to 899,000 rolls. In January-March 2019, production of toilet paper reached 173 million rolls.
Paper and Board Company was established in 1946 on the basis of the production facilities of a small mechanical plant. Currently it produces goods and semi-finished products from waste paper (cardboard sheets, corners, tubes) and pulp paper (toilet paper, towels, napkins).
The company exports its products, in particular to Poland, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, Portugal and Romania.

ENERGOATOM ANNOUNCES TENDER TO BUILD SOLAR PLANT NEAR NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Energoatom has announced a tender for the supply of equipment and materials for the solar power plant Sonechko-1, which is to be built in the territory of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP).
According to the ProZorro system, the corresponding auction is scheduled for June 24. The expected cost of work is UAH 270.52 million.
Energoatom proposes to supply 48,900 single-crystal or polycrystalline Risen photovoltaic modules with a capacity of 310–320 W, some 360 network inverters, 13 complete substations of 0.4/6 kV and one substation of 35/6kV, as well as 119,300 meters of copper cable.
Energoatom announced the intention to build a solar plant with a capacity of about 15 MW at Zaporizhia NPP in 2017. Since then, there have been preparatory work: design, geodetic studies. It was assumed that the solar station will be located on 37 hectares, in the territory of hydraulic structures between the cooling pond and the Kaniv water reservoir.

GOODS TURNOVER AT FOOD CHAINS OF FOZZY GROUP 26% UP

Fozzy Group in 2018 increased goods turnover at its food chains Fora, Silpo, Thrash!, Fozzy Cash & Carry by 26% compared to 2017, to UAH 78.8 billion, the press service of the company has reported.
“In 2018, goods turnover at the retail grocery chains of the group amounted to UAH 78.8 billion, which is 26% more than in 2017. Thus, Fozzy Group continued its development in 2018: this brought UAH 2.9 billion in taxes to the national budget. In particular, Silpo-Food LLC is among the top three largest taxpayers in Ukraine among retailers in 2018, according to the State Fiscal Service,” the report said.
According to the report, in 2018 some 25 new stores were opened, in particular, seven Silpo in five cities of Ukraine, 12 Fora stores and six Thrash! discount stores. The total number of Fozzy Group stores at the beginning of 2019 was 686.
The group also opened two new restaurant projects in 2018: the Cuban restaurant and bar Escobar and an establishment with the aesthetics of the world bars Who & Why Drinkery. The innovative postal and logistics operator Justin also was launched, its 500 branches are already located in the stores of Fozzy Group.

UKRAINE STARTS SOWING SOYBEANS

Ukraine has started sowing soybeans, planting 31,000 hectares (2% of the forecast) with this crop, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has reported.
According to the ministry, as of April 17 some 1.5 million hectares are sown with barley (94%), 150,000 hectares with wheat (90%), 165,000 hectares with oats (84%), and 283,000 hectares with peas (83%).
Ukraine has also sowed 264,000 hectares with corn (6%), 194,000 hectares with sugar beets (79%), and one million hectares with sunflower (18%).
In addition, according to the ministry, agrarians fertilized winter crops on 7.5 million hectares (99% of the forecast).
