UKRAINE NEEDS TIME TO LAUNCH QR CODES FOR MEDICINES – BORSCHAHIVKA PHARMACEUTICAL PLANT

The Ukrainian market needs three or five years to fully launch the QR code system for packages of medicines, Commercial Director of Research and Industrial Center Borschahivka chemical and pharmaceutical plant Yevhen Sova has said. “The implementation of the new rules is a step in right direction, but it is a long process, which should be prepared and introduced in phases. The Ukrainian market would require from three to five years to organically introduce the changes,” he told Interfax-Ukraine.
Sova said that the introduction of QR codes for packages would allow helping in fight against counterfeit medicines.
“We are preparing for this at Borschahivka chemical and pharmaceutical plant. The enterprise has installed specialized equipment for placing QR codes on packages,” he said.
The expert said that the monitoring system using QR codes would work only the general public approach at all levels of flow of medicines would apply.
Sova said that the introduction of QR codes on the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market could affect the cost of medicines.

ABB: MARKET FOR ELECTRIC CARS’ SUPERCHARGERS GROWS IN UKRAINE

The active development of sustainable energy creates demand on the introduction of micro-grid systems in Ukraine, and growing popularity of electric cars creates demand on the installation of superchargers. A representative of the company Andriy Panchenko described the new trends at the Swedish-Ukrainian business forum held in Kyiv recently. According to him, the company has already built 25 MW solar power plants under an order of Ukrainian energy companies.
Panchenko told Interfax-Ukraine that ABB on the market of solar power plants offers complex solutions, supplying everything, except solar cell arrays and cables. He estimated ABB’s market share at about 10%.
The representative of the company said that this market is growing, and this year the volume of construction will exceed 30 MW.
With regard to the superchargers, Panchenko said that the company has already installed 15 devices with a capacity of 50 kW, and the largest customer was DTEK. In his opinion, this market will continue to grow rapidly, as Ukraine is now the fifth market in Europe for importing cars, and the number of high-speed charges on the market is still very low. In general, Panchenko said that the ABB business in Ukraine began to grow, and if in 2014 its staff decreased from 200 to 100, now it has about 120 employees.

ISRAEL AND UKRAINE DISCUSS FINAL READINESS ON SIGNING FTA

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has agreed with Israeli leaders on the readiness of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel, the press service of the Ukrainian ministry has said. “During the meeting, the sides discussed and agreed upon many topics of mutual interest, particularly in the area of trade and investment, agriculture and water management, energy and communications, standardization and tourism. A Protocol of the 11th Meeting of the Commission was signed as a result of the negotiations,” a message reads.
It is noted that the 11th meeting of Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Jerusalem under the co-chairmanship of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and Minister for Environment, Minister for Jerusalem and Heritage of the State of Israel Zeev Elkin.
Klimkin also had a meeting with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, where the subject of the creation of the Autocephalous Orthodox Ukrainian Church was discussed.

GROSSDORF LAUNCHES PRODUCTION OF GRANULAR FERTILIZERS FOR PRECISION AGRICULTURE IN CHERKASY

Grossdorf agrochemical company has launched production of multicomponent solid granular mineral fertilizers with a total capacity of 35,000-50,000 tonnes per year in the village of Khatsky (Cherkasy region), Commercial Director of Grossdorf Serhiy Ruban has said during the official opening of production.
“The company plans to increase production capacity to 100,000-150,000 tonnes per year,” he said.
Grossdorf intends to produce fertilizers by the method of compacting: certain components under high pressure are compressed to form a single granule.
The company said in comparison with other methods of granule formation, the compactor allows quickly changing the component composition and producing goods with any number of components.
Grossdorf agrochemical company (Cherkasy) was established in 2016. It is engaged in production, import, transportation of fertilizers, as well as providing services for application of anhydrous ammonia. Its core business is the supply of basic fertilizers for precision farming. The capacity of liquid fertilizers production is 350,000 tonnes per year.
