“Zeleny Park” increased production of fluting and cardboard by 19.4%

Zelenyi Park LLC (Iziaslav, Khmelnytskyi region), which produces corrugated paper (fluting) and containerboard, increased its production by 19.4% in January-November this year compared to the same period in 2023, to UAH 514.6 million.

According to statistics provided by UkrPapir Association toInterfax-Ukraine, the company’s growth rate slowed down a bit over the first 11 months of the year, with a 24% increase in the first ten months and a 26.6% increase in the first nine months.

In January-November, production in physical terms increased by 3.8% to almost 29 thousand tons. At the same time, in November, the company reduced the production of fluting and test liners by 36.4% by November 2023 and by 39% by October this year, to 1.9 thousand tons.

Zelenyi Park LLC was registered in 2011 and manufactures products from waste paper, processing up to 72 thousand tons of waste paper annually.

The factory is equipped with Finnish Valmet equipment, which allows it to produce fluting and testliner with a density of 70 to 200 g/sq. m and a roll width of up to 2.8 m.

According to the Clarity Project, the owner of 100% of Zelenyi Park LLC is Cyprus-registered Carton Mill Limited, and the ultimate beneficiaries are ATB Corporation co-owner Gennadiy Butkevych and Volodymyr Shandra (full name is the same as the full name of the former Minister of Industrial Policy (2005-2006) and the former Minister of Emergency Situations (2007-2010) – IF-U).

The company ended 2023 with a loss of UAH 78.2 million (56% more than a year earlier) on a 6.8% drop in revenue to UAH 498.6 million.

Zelenyi Park LLC (Iziaslav, Khmelnytskyi region), which produces corrugated paper (fluting) and containerboard, increased its production by 24% in January-October this year compared to the same period in 2023, to UAH 474.07 million.
According to statistics provided by Ukrpapir Association to Interfax-Ukraine, the company’s growth rate slowed slightly over the first 10 months of the year, compared to 26.6% in the first nine months of the year.
In January-October, the company’s output in physical terms increased by 8.6% to almost 27 thousand tons. At the same time, in October, the company reduced production of fluting and test liners by 9.4% by October 2023 and by 17% by September this year, to 3.1 thousand tons.

Lviv Cardboard and Paper Company increased its output by 27.4%

LLC “Cardboard and Paper Company” (Lviv), a major Ukrainian manufacturer of cardboard sleeves and sanitary products, in January-June 2023 increased its output by 27.4% to UAH 638.79 mln. in comparison with the same period of 2022.

According to the statistical data of UkrPapir Association provided to Interfax-Ukraine, in physical terms the company increased the output of cardboard products by 2.3% – up to 13.1 thousand tons, paper-base for sanitary-hygienic products by 4.2% – up to 3.6 thousand tons. At the same time, the output of toilet paper in rolls increased by 35.3%, amounting to 2.8 million pieces.

Meanwhile, in June, the company reduced the output of paper and cardboard by almost 16% compared to the same month last year – to 2.53 thousand tons, which is also 29.5% less than in May this year.

“Cardboard and paper company” produces products and semi-finished products from waste paperboard (cardboard sheets, corners, sleeves), pulp and recycled waste paper (toilet paper, towels, napkins TM Papero). The company supplies its products to EU countries, among others.

Among its customers are Biosphere, Arterium, Nestle, Hlebprom, and Yarich.

As reported, in 2022, the factory, without suspending work during the year, increased the volume of marketable products by 51.5% compared to 2021 – up to 1 billion 186 million UAH. Net profit tripled to UAH 263.7 mln.

“Papir-Mal” reached positive dynamics of paper and cardboard production

Paper and cardboard mill “Papir-Mal” (Malyn, Zhytomyr region) at the end of 2022 increased production of paper and cardboard by 3% compared with 2021 – up to 42.31 thousand tons, according to statistics from the association “UkrPapir”.
According to statistics provided by “Interfax-Ukraine”, in January-November last year Papir-Mal showed negative dynamics in terms of production volumes of these products to the same period in 2021 – the decline was 4.5% up to 35.93 tons.
However, in December the factory increased the output of these products by 85%, to 6.4 thousand tons, and was able to reach a positive trend for the year.
In the total volume of paper and paperboard output increased by 10.4% to 38.28 thousand tons, while the production of base paper for sanitary products decreased by 37% to 4.03 thousand tons.
In monetary terms, the production volume of the company decreased by 4.7% to UAH 247 mln by 2021.
As reported with reference to the association “Ukrpapir” data collected from industry companies, last year the production of paper and paperboard in Ukraine decreased by 44.2% compared to 2021 – up to 500.6 thousand tons.
According to the information on the website of the company, with the beginning of a full-scale military aggression of Russia against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the factory has completely stopped production, but in March it resumed production.
In addition, as reported, Papir-Mal, having incurred losses, was forced to stop the production and shipment of paper napkins and towels under the trademark “Zetka” registered back in 2014 due to the use of the Latin Z as a symbol of the aggressor state army.
To date, the factory has two cardboard machines (the second was put into operation last year). Also at the enterprise since 2019 there is a line for recycling of Tetra Pak packages.
In 2021 “Papir-Mal” produced 259,14 mln UAH – 5% more than the year before.

Large Ukrainian producer of corrugated cardboard – Poninkovsky Cardboard and Paper Mill increased production volume in 2022

Large Ukrainian producer of corrugated board – Poninkovsky Cardboard and Paper Mill-Ukraine (PKBF-Ukraine, Khmelnytsky region) in 2022 produced 2 billion 446 million UAH, which is 6.5% more than in 2021.
According to statistics from the association “UkrPapir” provided to the agency “Interfax-Ukraine”, in volume terms, the factory has reduced the output of packaging board (including paper for corrugation) by 23.7% – to 69.2 thousand tons, and the production of corrugated boxes on 14.8% of it – to 70.8 million square meters.
At the same time, paper output increased by 20% to 585 tons.
As reported with reference to the data collected by the Association of industry companies, last year, taking into account the fact that a number of companies in the industry are either destroyed or damaged or are on occupied territory, the production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine decreased by 44.2% compared to 2021 – to 500.6 thousand tons, corrugated boxes – by 41.1%, to 444.6 million square meters.
Ponikovskaya factory (formerly – Ponikovsky Cardboard and Paper Mill), once the largest producer of school notebooks, now has one main production – paper and cardboard, produces mainly corrugated packaging, as well as wrapping, waste paper.
The mill is part of the United Carton Company-Ukraine (UCCU, Lutsk), whose production assets include, in particular, the Lutsk Cardboard Mill-Ukraine (Volyn region), which last year reduced its production by 21% – to 21.5 thousand tons (including containerboard by almost 25% to 38.8 thousand tons, while the box production increased by 27% – to 8.5 thousand tons).

Lviv Cardboard and Paper Company increased production volume by 50%

LLC “Carton and Paper Company” (Lviv), a major Ukrainian manufacturer of cardboard sleeves and sanitary products in January-November 2022 increased production volume by 50.2% compared to the same period of 2021 – up to 1 billion 076 million UAH.
According to the statistical data of “UkrPapir” association, provided to “Interfax-Ukraine” agency, thus, the company has slightly increased the growth rate of this indicator compared to the same period of the last year (according to 10 months, the increase was 49.4%).
In physical terms, the company has kept the output of base paper for sanitary products almost at last year’s level – 6.42 thousand tons, while increasing the output of toilet paper in rolls by 41% – to 3.7 million pieces.
Production of cardboard products increased insignificantly – to 24.2 thousand tons.
As reported with reference to “UkrPapir” statistics, the mill has continued to work all months from the beginning of this year, reducing the output of paper and paperboard in March (to March 2021), but in April has already gone to a positive trend, which remained in subsequent months.
“Carton and Paper Company” (until 2011 – “Lvivkartonoplast”) produces products and semi-finished products from waste paperboard (cardboard sheets, corners, sleeves), cellulose and recycled waste paper (toilet paper, towels, napkins TM Papero).
In 2021 the company produced UAH 782.7 mln worth of products – 47% more than the year before.
