Ukraine in January-August this year increased exports of cast iron in quantity terms by 6% compared to the same period last year, to 2.173 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Wednesday, during the specified period, exports of cast iron in monetary terms increased by 93.7%, to $1.127 billion.
At the same time, the products were mainly exported to the United States (57.07% of supplies in monetary terms), Italy (20.38%) and Turkey (10.89%).
Over eight months of 2021, Ukraine imported 149 tonnes of cast iron for $163,000 from Germany (64.42%), the Russian Federation (28.22%) and Slovakia (7.36%), while in January-August 2020 it imported 412 tonnes for $292,000.
Ukraine in January-May this year increased exports of cast iron in quantity terms by 4.1% compared to the same period last year, to 1.252 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Wednesday, during the specified period, exports of cast iron in monetary terms increased by 70.8%, to $600.902 million.
At the same time, exports were carried out mainly in the United States (59.45% of supplies in monetary terms), Turkey (13.82%) and Italy (11.83%).
In January-April 2021, Ukraine imported 73 tonnes of cast iron worth $92,000 from Germany (86.96%) and Slovakia (13.04%), while over the five months of 2020 it imported 314 tonnes of similar products worth $209,000.
Ukraine in January-February of this year reduced the export of pig iron in kind by 24.4% compared to the same period last year, to 383,523 tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Tuesday, during the specified period, the export of cast iron in monetary terms grew by 0.7%, to $154.176 million.
At the same time, cast iron was mainly exported to the United States (66.92% of deliveries in monetary terms), as well as to Turkey (8.84%) and Brazil (7.38%).
In January-February-2021, Ukraine imported 34 tonnes of cast iron worth $29,000 from Germany (60%) and Slovakia (40%), while in the first two months of 2020 it imported 100 tonnes of similar products worth $71,000.
Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises in January of this year reduced the production of general rolled products, according to recent data, by 1.2% compared to the same period last year, to 1.659 million tonnes.
According to the report of the Ukrmetalurgprom association on Tuesday, in the first month of the year steel production decreased by 0.1%, to 1.841 million tonnes, while cast iron increased by 5.1%, to 1.817 million tonnes.
As reported, over 2020, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises increased production of general rolled products by 0.7% compared to 2019, to 18.344 million tonnes, reduced steel by 1.4%, to 20.549 million tonnes and increased cast iron by 1.5%, to 20.358 million tonnes.
Ukraine in January-August 2019 decreased exports of pig iron in natural terms by 25.8% compared to the same period in 2018, to 1.567 million tonnes.
According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service, during this period exports of cast iron in monetary terms fell by 31.1%, to $507.943 million.
Exports were mainly made to the United States (53.39% of deliveries in monetary terms), Italy (15.45%), and Turkey (9.91%).
In January-August 2019, Ukraine imported 836 tonnes of similar products for $502,000, while in January-August 2018 some 997 tonnes worth $569,000. Imports were carried out from Russia (76.29% of deliveries in monetary terms), Germany (20.92%), and Poland (2.79%).
As reported, in 2018, Ukraine increased exports of pig iron by 28.4%, to 3.006 million tonnes, and in money terms it rose by 42.6%, to $1.053 billion. Exports were mainly made to the United States (59.88% of deliveries in monetary terms), Italy (11.85%), and Turkey (10.92%).
In 2018, Ukraine imported 1,375 tonnes of pig iron for $796,000, while in 2017 – 2,000 tonnes for $1.02 million. The goods were imported from Russia (78.02% of deliveries in monetary terms) and Germany (21.98%).
Ukrainian metal and mining enterprises in 2018 tentatively increased rolled steel output by 1% year-over-year, to 18.446 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrmetallurgprom association, steel smelting fell by 2%, to 21.06 million tonnes, and cast iron output increased by 2%, to 20.531 million tonnes.
The production figures of enterprises in 2018 were higher in comparison with the same period in 2017 not taking into account two months of work of the enterprises in the Ukrainian government’s uncontrolled area: rolled steel output grew by 3%, steel – by 0.3%, and cast iron – by 4%.
In December 2018, Ukrainian metal companies produced 1.803 million tonnes of cast iron (110% to the previous month), 1.845 million tonnes of steel (111%), and 1.603 million tonnes of rolled steel (108%).
As reported, Ukrainian metal and mining enterprises in 2017, taking into account the two months of operation of the enterprises on the government uncontrolled areas, reduced steel output by 12% year-over-year, to 21.284 million tonnes, rolled steel – by 14%, to 18.439 million tonnes, and cast iron – by 15%, to 20.035 million tonnes,
In 2016, Ukraine boosted steel output by 6% year-over-year, to 24.2 million tonnes, cast iron – by 8%, to 23.6 million tonnes, and rolled steel – by 6%, to 21.4 million tonnes.
