Mining enterprises of Ukraine in January-May 2020 increased the export of iron ore raw materials in natural units by 11.9% compared to the same period of 2019, to 18.875 million tonnes.
According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, foreign exchange earnings from iron ore raw materials exports increased by 5.7%, to $1.51 billion over that period.
Iron ore raw materials were exported mainly to China (58.06% of supplies in monetary terms), Poland (10.07%) and the Czech Republic (6.87%).
Iron ore raw materials imported to Ukraine from the Netherlands to Ukraine amounted to $28,000, from Sweden, to some $10,000, from Germany to some $1,000 and from Hungary to some $1,000 in a total volume of 84 tonnes over two months of 2020, while 45 tonnes of iron ore with cost of $24,000 were imported in January-May 2019.
The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade has extended the terms of the antidumping instigation into imports of stainless seamless hot-finished pipes from China.
According to a report in the Uriadovy Kurier newspaper, the investigation was extended to 13 months from the moment of its opening.
“In accordance with the law of Ukraine on the protection of national producers from dumping imports, the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade reviewed materials submitted by the Ministry for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine on the progress of the antidumping investigation regarding the import of steel seamless hot-finished pipes originating from China into Ukraine and, based on the results of the review, established that there is a need to extend the deadline for the antidumping investigation,” the commission said in the statement.
At the same time, the Commission on May 13, 2020 made a decision according to which it decided to extend the deadline for conducting this antidumping investigation, initiated on May 14, 2019, to 13 months.
As reported, the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade initiated the antidumping investigation following the submission of a complaint by the national pipe producer Interpipe Niko Tube (Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region).
Nova Poshta Global (NPG), a member of Nova Poshta group of companies, launches scheduled flights from/to the United States and China.
The company’s press service said on Tuesday that flights by the order of Nova Poshta Global will be operated several times a week and deliver both parcels from Ukraine and purchases made by Ukrainians in online stores of these countries.
Together with partners, the company has already launched six scheduled flights, namely, five flights to/from the United States and one to/from China. Four flights in the direction of Warsaw-New York-Warsaw are operated by European airlines Lufthansa and LOT, and one weekly direct flight Kyiv-New York-Kyiv of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA). Nova Poshta Global launched another weekly flight to/from China in cooperation with the Ukrainian company SkyUp.
“We launched scheduled flights with our regular partners Lufthansa, LOT and UIA, and last week we began cooperation with Ukrainian airline SkyUp. The first flight of this airline has already delivered 1,801 parcels for our customers with a total weight of 17 tonnes, including both individual orders and commercial goods. This is only part of the parcels that Nova Poshta Global delivers to Ukraine from China weekly. We deliver on average about 25,000 parcels weighing more than 38 tonnes per week from the United States,” the press service said, citing Nova Poshta Global CEO Yuriy Benevytsky.
According to Nova Poshta Global, orders from the United States increased by 4.7 times in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, which was due to cooperation with the American online store iHerb, namely, some 230,000 parcels with a total weight of 360 tonnes were delivered from that store for the first quarter of 2020.
According to the data provided, the number of deliveries of NP Shopping service has also increased in particular some 81,000 parcels were delivered in the first quarter, which is 32% more than in the same period in 2019.
However, the company’s customers began not only to order more from abroad, but also to send abroad. Thus, for the first quarter of 2020, the volume of export shipments of individuals increased by 12%, and business customer shipments doubled compared to the same period in 2019. Almost 78% are parcels and goods, some 12% are documents.

Meest said on its Facebook page that flights will be operated on Beijing-Boryspil and Guangzhou-Boryspil routes twice a week. Cargoes are accepted in volumes of three cubic meters, which is convenient for small and medium-size entrepreneurs.

In Ukraine, the group is represented by the postal and logistics operator Meest Express, which has been providing targeted delivery services since 2005.
A plane chartered by PJSC Donbasenergo on April 19 delivered 12 tonnes of personal protective equipment (PPE) to combat COVID-19 from the Chinese city of Chengdu (Sichuan Province), the company’s press service has said.
According to its data, in particular, the cargo included 15,000 reusable protective suits for doctors, 500,000 disposable masks, 400,000 disposable gloves, 150,000 respirators, 20,000 glasses and protective shields, and 800 non-contact thermometers.
“All these means are intended to protect the public and medical personnel working in the difficult conditions of confronting the deadly disease. Donbasenergo thanks partners from Dongfang Electric International Corporation (Chengdu) who helped implement this difficult project,” the company said.
It is planned that on April 21 most of the PPE will be transferred to the department of health of Donetsk region.
The An-225 Mriya aircraft belonged to Antonov State Enterprise flew to China on April 15 to deliver medical supplies to help in fight against the coronavirus disease COVID-19 pandemic in France.
The state-owned enterprise (SOE) Antonov said on its Facebook page that the Mriya aircraft will take on board a new batch of medical supplies in China to fight COVID-19 and will land at Chalons Vatry Airport in France on April 18.
The enterprise also said that Antonov Company continues manufacturing the An-178 aircraft under the contract concluded by SpetsTechnoExport with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Peru. As of today, the preparatory works for jig assembly of the aircraft’s fuselage have been completed.
“Assembly of the fuselage nose part (F1) and the fuselage center section (F-2) are at the final stage in the production shop. Manufacture of the central part of the wing, left and right cantilever parts of the wing, empennage has been fully completed. Two engine pylons are ready for further integration into the aircraft,” the company said in the statement on its website.
According to the company, to date, Antonov Airlines has already transported more than 1,400 tonnes of cargo from China to various countries in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.
