The Irish low cost airline Ryanair (Dublin) from November 2019 will perform 113 flights a week to 40 destinations from Ukraine, which is 2 times more than the figure for November 2018 (52 flights, 17 destinations).
According to the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, 80 flights a week in 26 directions will be operated from Kyiv from November 2019.
Six flights per week will be operated from Kharkiv in three directions, 13 flights per week from Odesa in six directions (in November 2018, flights from these cities were not operated).
From Lviv, there will be 14 flights per week in five directions (the same number of flights was carried out in November 2018).
Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp Airlines (Kyiv) will launch three new domestic flights from October, the company said on its website.
What is more, the frequency of SkyUp flights between Kyiv and Lviv will increase.
The Kyiv-Zaporizhia flight fare starts from UAH 498. The flights will be carried out on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday starting from October 28, 2019.
The Kyiv-Kharkiv flight fare starts from UAH 498. The flights will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting from October 25, 2019.
Flights between Kharkiv and Lviv will be launched for the first time in Ukraine; tickets will cost starting from UAH 639. The flights will be carried out on Thursday and Sunday from October 17, 2019.
The airline stressed that the development of domestic routes is what SkyUp can do and continues doing for Ukraine.
“SkyUp Airlines is now fighting for its right to fly. Every day we are trying to get better. You wanted to open Europe – we launched flights to Barcelona, Paris and Naples. You liked the holidays in Lviv – we reviewed our winter flight schedule. Now after one hour on board the plane, you will be able to have lunch with partners in Kharkiv, or enjoy time with friends from Lviv – at the price of a train ticket,” the company’s press service quotes CEO Yevhen Khainatsky are quoted as saying.
Tickets for the three destinations are already available for booking.
As was reported, SkyUp, which was set up in June 2017, transported 668,500 passengers in the first half of 2019.
Currently, its fleet consists of eight planes: six Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 737-700.
Ukraine International Airlines (UIA, Kyiv) could increase frequency of flights to Tbilisi and the company is not planning flights to Batumi, UIA Communications Director Yevhenia Satska has said.
“We conduct two daily flights to Tbilisi and are considering possibility of increasing their frequency. We are not planning flights to Batumi,” she said on June 26.
Satska noted that Tbilisi is important to UIA as it has a transit network effect.
“For passengers from Europe and Baltic countries a trip to Tbilisi through Kyiv is a very good model,” she said.
At the same time, Satska mentioned high airports fees in some Georgian airports that were transferred to concession.
“There is a problem which does not leave us [UIA] a chance to develop in Georgia: airport fees are rather high in Tbilisi and Batumi as long as these airports are in concession of foreign companies. These fees are much higher than in many European cities. Their reduction could automatically let us cut the cost of flight by the same amount,” she said.
The Ukrainian airline SkyUp on June 4, 2019 launched flights from Odesa to Kutaisi (Georgia), Odesa airport said on Facebook.
Flights will be operated weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. Departure from Odesa is at 21:20, back at 19:20. The flight duration is two hours.
The cost of a one-way ticket without baggage starts from UAH 1,800.
As reported, SkyUp launched regular flights from Kharkiv to Odesa.
As of June 2019, SkyUp’s fleet had six aircraft, including four medium-haul Boeing 737-800 NGs with 189 seats and two medium-haul Boeing 737-700 NGs with 149 seats.
In October 2018, SkyUp received the TCO certificate, which allows performing flights to 28 countries of the European Union, as well as to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
Czech Airlines (the Czech Republic) has resumed flights from Prague to Odesa from May 30, 2019, according to a posting on the Facebook page of the Odesa airport.
The flights will be operated up to four times a week. In particular, from Odesa from May 30 to June 17 the plane will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays, from June 18 to July 1 – also on Sundays, from July 2 – on Thursdays. Departure time is 5:00 local time.
From Prague, from May 30 to June 16, the flight will be operated on Mondays and Thursdays, from June 17 flights on Saturdays will also be added, and from July 1 – on Wednesdays. Departure time is 22:45 local time.
The cost of a one-way ticket starts from UAH 2,700.
Czech Airlines is the main airline of the Czech Republic and operates flights from Prague to the main destinations in Europe and Asia.
Ukrainian airline Jonika (Kyiv) from July 21, 2019 will start flying from Lviv (the Lviv international airport) to Athens (Greece, the Eleftherios Venizelos airport).
The press service of the Lviv airport said on its Facebook page that the flights will be performed on Sundays every week. The departure from Lviv is at 16:10, and arrival in Athens – at 19:00. The departure from Athens is at 13:00 and arrival in Lviv – at 15:30 (Kyiv time).
According to the booking system on the airline’s website, the cost of the one-way ticket starts from UAH 4,000. The flights will be serviced until September 15.
The company’s fleet consists of two Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline already operates regular flights from Kyiv (Zhuliany) airport to Greece and charter flights to Turkey, Montenegro, Albania and Bulgaria.
