Schneider Electric increases transparency of environmental data on products

Schneider Electric, a global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is launching the Environmental Data Program. Building on the legacy of Green Premium labeling, this initiative provides customers with unique access to information about the environmental impact of products, enabling them to make more informed, data-driven decisions and confidently meet new regulatory requirements.

Schneider Electric has been repeatedly recognized as a leader in sustainability, including being named the world’s most sustainable company by Time magazine and Statista in 2024, and ranking first in Corporate Knights’ ranking for the second time in January 2025. This commitment to environmental leadership and growing customer demand for transparency have been the driving forces behind the launch of the new program.

By providing key information such as carbon footprint, energy efficiency, packaging, recycled content, and more, Schneider Electric helps customers choose solutions that meet their sustainability goals and better track, understand, and reduce their own environmental impact.

Schneider Electric now publishes data for 14 environmental characteristics, up from the five previously available under the Green Premium label. This data is available online for 110,000 commercial items. The company plans to expand coverage to 155,000 items by the end of the year, covering 80% of its turnover, compared to the current 70%.

With 2024 officially the hottest year on record, the need for decisive action on the environment and climate has never been clearer. At the same time, research shows that only 7.2% of the global economy is circular. Recent years have been marked by regulatory changes (including the draft EU Directive on environmental claims) that increase transparency and accountability requirements. The data provided under the Environmental Data Program will make it easier for customers to use it for both business and compliance and reporting purposes. Transparency in environmental data is key to both decarbonization and maintaining competitiveness—two strategic goals for the future. Ultimately, it is about enabling better decisions through clearer, more accurate, and more reliable data.

Chris Long, Schneider Electric’s Chief Sustainability Officer, said: “With over 15 years of experience in product environmental data, we have built a legacy of trust and transparency. Now, with the launch of the Environmental Data Program, we are setting a new standard for the availability and effectiveness of such data. We remain committed to helping our customers and partners make responsible, informed decisions with transparency at the core: use better, use longer, use again.”

Celine Coulibray-Duménil, Director of Sustainability at Rexel, a global leader in electrical distribution, supports the Environmental Data Program: “Providing customers with more transparent and factual product information is a necessity. We support Schneider Electric’s commitment to influencing the industry by promoting greater transparency on product environmental performance.”

Schneider Charge Pro simplifies charging for growth of electric vehicles

– The open solution provides fast installation and optimizes reimbursement processes to support fleet electrification.

– Minimizes power outages to accelerate the development of charging infrastructure in multi-family buildings and private homes.

– Remote monitoring through one easy-to-use mobile application.

Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation in energy management and automation, has launched Schneider Charge Pro, a reliable, energy-efficient electric vehicle (EV) charging solution in Europe to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles among commercial fleet and apartment building owners. In line with the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which requires the modernization of EV chargers by 2027, Schneider Charge Pro aims to address key barriers to growth in a complex and fragmented market landscape as a comprehensive, affordable solution for electric mobility.

More than just a charging station, Schneider Charge Pro is part of a fully integrated turnkey solution that simplifies the charging process from start to finish, making it easy for charging point operators (CPOs) and building owners to upgrade or install new EV charging stations, and easy and smooth for electricians to install. The solution also comes with open system software that efficiently tracks charging times, simplifying the process of reimbursing CPOs for employees who charge EVs that are part of a residential complex’s fleet.

This open solution is complemented by two new products designed to provide fast and reliable access to electric vehicle charging for cars, vans and other electric vehicles. The EVCE MFH solution, designed specifically for multifamily buildings, manages electricity loads in real time, allowing large numbers of EVs to be charged without overloading or disrupting power supply to tenants or the building. This is supported by a new cloud-based remote monitoring tool that allows for off-site pre-commissioning and faster on-site commissioning through a single, intuitive mobile app.

“As the market and regulatory environment rapidly evolves, Schneider Electric continues to lead the way in the new energy era,” said Nadezh Petit, Chief Innovation Officer at Schneider Electric. “Schneider Charge Pro builds on our century-long legacy of energy management innovation by offering an open, affordable and efficient EV charging solution designed to enable companies to easily electrify their fleets. By simplifying the adoption of electric vehicles for fleet operators, building owners, electricians and apartment buildings, we ensure compliance with EU regulations while helping companies accelerate their electrification goals, move forward and make the transition to sustainable energy.”

The Schneider Charge Pro electric vehicle charging solution is now available in France, Ukraine, and Hong Kong, with more countries to follow within a year.

Schneider Electric has provided OKKO filling stations network with equipment for uninterrupted power supply in all conditions

Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation in the field of energy management and automation, and the OKKO filling station network have implemented a large-scale project for uninterrupted power supply and infrastructure reliability – 290 out of 410 filling stations of the network will be equipped with uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) with modern powerful batteries in 2022-2024, and in 2025 it is planned to equip another 50 filling stations of the network with the same UPS.

The equipment chosen by OKKO is designed to protect the power supply in the most unstable conditions. Schneider Electric lithium-ion UPS has a long service life without battery replacement (up to 12-15 years), long autonomy time with its compact dimensions and ease of maintenance.

“Even before the large-scale blackouts, OKKO started implementing a plan to modernize the corporate data network. We realized that we needed efficient equipment that would ensure the smooth operation of all vital filling station systems – cash registers, fuel dispensers, equipment providing Wi-Fi and other customer services. We started looking for the right powerful equipment, analyzing the world’s experience. The solution from Schneider Electric provided the result we needed. In fact, regardless of power outages at OKKO filling stations, customers will not face delays in payments or lack of Wi-Fi,” said Sergiy Lesko, CIO of OKKO.

“Schneider Electric has deep experience in technologies and practices that can improve energy efficiency and sustainability, understands and carefully studies the specific needs of each Ukrainian customer,” said Volodymyr Dokhlenko, Head of Secure Power at Schneider Electric in Ukraine, Czech Republic and Slovakia, ”As part of this project, our client received uninterrupted power supply to the filling station for up to 5 hours, as well as the preservation of critical data and round-the-clock monitoring of the UPS network.”

The UPS network monitoring system is provided by the equipment supplier. Thanks to predictive analytics of the UPS operation status and notifications about the need to replace it soon, service work is carried out in a timely manner, minimizing the risk of downtime.

About OKKO

The OKKO filling station network is one of the largest filling station networks in Ukraine (as of the beginning of 2025 – 410 filling stations). The company also has a network of on-the-go catering establishments, stationary and mobile laboratories for quality control of petroleum products, etc.

The company is one of the largest taxpayers in the fuel market. Based on the results of operations in 2024, the companies of OKKO Group paid a total of UAH 21.1 billion in taxes to the budget and state funds. This is UAH 5.6 billion, or 36%, more than in 2023.

Rueil-Malmaison (France), January 22, 2025 – Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation in energy management and automation, has been named the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation 2025 by Corporate Knights and is the only company to be ranked first twice in the Global 100. For the first time, Schneider Electric topped this annual list of the most sustainable public companies with annual revenues over $1 billion in 2021. This unique achievement underscores the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability and its integrated approach to achieving the best environmental, social and governance (ESG) results.

“For many years, sustainability has been at the heart of Schneider Electric’s business. For IMPACT, it is not just a corporate goal, but a driving force that drives our business decisions and inspires our employees,” said Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric. “Being named the second Most Sustainable Corporation in the World by Corporate Knights, along with other key ESG recognitions, is a testament to the meaningful, long-term positive impact we are making.”
