STATE SERVICE OF GEOLOGY OF UKRAINE PUT UP FOR AUCTION 5 OIL AND GAS AREAS

The State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine has put up for electronic auction five hydrocarbon sites with a total starting cost of UAH 207.8 million (excluding the cost of geological documentation), the authority has said.
At the auction on October 20, 2021, in particular, Pivdenno-Rusanivska area (Sumy and Poltava regions) was put up for UAH 92.5 million (hereinafter without VAT), Zhukivska area (Poltava region) – for UAH 5.306 million, the Kitvan area (Ivano-Frankivsk region) – for UAH 1.925 million, Reshetylivska area (Poltava region) – for UAH 2.229 million and Tynivske area for UAH 107.847 million.
As reported, following the results of electronic trading in 2020, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil attracted UAH 826 million of direct revenues to the state budget. In 2021, a plan was announced to receive at least UAH 750 million.

11 EXPORT MARKETS OPENED FOR UKRAINIAN PRODUCERS IN 2021

Ukrainian producers since the beginning of the year have received the right to export agricultural products to 11 countries, while for the whole of 2020 Ukraine opened 12 export markets, the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection said on its website.
According to its data, since the beginning of 2021, the markets of Lebanon, Japan, Argentina, Libya and Kuwait opened for Ukrainian producers of milk and dairy products, Serbia for processed animal protein, Ethiopia for table eggs. Lithuania opened a market for the export of arachnids for plant protection needs, a health certificate for the import of live snails for breeding was agreed with Slovakia, and certificates for the export of small ruminants were agreed with Jordan and Kuwait.
The service also announced two audits: an assessment of official control over the production and certification of milk and dairy products and an audit of the state control system for microbiological contamination of non-animal products exported to the EU.
The ministry recalled the coordination of 63 forms of certificates for the export of animal products to the CIS countries in connection with Ukraine’s withdrawal from the previously signed agreement on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine.
The state consumer service clarified that this year it also has signed an agreement with the Republic of North Macedonia on cooperation in the field of plant quarantine and protection, which should become an additional lever to enhance trade in plant products between Ukraine and North Macedonia.
“Each new market is a new opportunity for Ukrainian business. Today we are actively working with the EU countries, with very promising countries in Asia and Africa. There are about a hundred more export markets that are planned to be opened for Ukrainian producers,” head of the service Vladyslava Mahaletska said.

STATE SERVICE OF UKRAINE: LARGEST NUMBER OF CONSUMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT QUALITY OF NON-FOOD PRODUCTS

In 2020, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection received more than 20,900 proposals, appeals, complaints and statements from consumers.
“The largest number (41.5%) of consumers complained about the quality of non-food products. Also, a large number of complaints (29.5%) related to the quality of housing and communal services. 5.1% of consumers were dissatisfied with the quality of food products,” the message says.
As reported, in 2020, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection checked the safety of goods, the provision of services (works) in the amount of more than UAH 72.8 million, the purchase and use by the population of low-quality food, non-food goods and services (works) in the amount of more than UAH 35.6 million (48.9%). Consumers were returned UAH 10.2 million for low-quality goods and services.
“Everyone has a right to receive high-quality and safe goods and services,” head of the State Consumer Service Vladyslava Mahaletska says. “We are already working on simplifying the procedure of consumers’ rights protection. This is, first of all, about effective communication in digital,” the department said.
