CANADIAN COMPANY INTERESTED IN HYDROCARBON PRODUCTION IN UKRAINE

Canadian-based Tenaz Energy Corp. is interested in the implementation of projects for the development of hydrocarbon areas in Ukraine, head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine Roman Opimakh said on Facebook after a meeting with executive director of the company Anthony Marino in Kyiv. “Special attention (on the part of Tenaz Energy Corp. is paid to the facilities, where production was suspended due to a sharp drop in the production rate of wells that are not being developed now,” Opimakh said with reference to Marino.In turn, the head of the service informed the representative of the Canadian company about the existing proposals in the field of hydrocarbon development in Ukraine, as well as about possible ways to implement business projects.“The service has prepared and published in the investment atlas of a subsoil user 50 objects with oil and gas deposits for electronic auction. This is more than 6,000 square kilometers throughout Ukraine, including areas with approved reserves and green fields,” Opimakh explained at the meeting.According to him, it is possible to obtain the right to explore and develop by purchasing special permits at electronic auctions, which the service regularly conducts on the ProZorro.Sale platform.He also informed the Canadian investor about the possibility of Tenaz Energy Corp.’s entering the existing farm-in subsoil use projects.“The condition is the acquisition of a share in the company that is the licensee. Such a mechanism may be of interest to enterprises that are experiencing difficulties in unlocking the full potential of the facilities, and the international partner will offer capital and experience,” Opimakh emphasized. Tenaz Energy Corp. is a public company specializing in the acquisition of oil and gas assets around the world through mergers and acquisitions in order to create an efficient extraction business. Tenaz Energy Corp. has carried out operations to acquire assets worth more than $ 6 billion and has experience of operating in 65 countries of the world. The company develops hydrocarbons in Central Alberta (Canada) and focuses on the markets of Europe, the Middle East, South America and North Africa.

UKRAINE SUBSTANTIALLY CUTS IMPORTS OF MANGANESE ORES

Ukraine in January-October this year reduced imports of manganese ore and concentrate in quantity terms by 30% compared to the same period last year, to 337,278 tonnes.According to statistics released by the State Customs Service, in monetary terms, imports of manganese ore and concentrate decreased by 35.1% over the period, to $42.262 million.At the same time, manganese ore and concentrate were imported from Ghana (99.84% of supplies in monetary terms), Brazil (0.08%) and Belgium (0.07%). In January-October 2021, Ukraine exported 434 tonnes of manganese ore and concentrate to Poland (90.2%) and Russia (9.8%) for $51,000 (no ore was exported in August-October), while in the same period last year it exported 47,342 tonnes of manganese ore and concentrate for $7.152 million

EUROPEAN UNION ANNOUNCES DECISION TO EXCLUDE UKRAINE FROM ‘GREEN LIST’ OF TRAVEL

The European Union has announced a decision by which it excluded Ukraine from the list of countries for which it is recommended to lift the restrictive measures imposed on unnecessary travel to the EU due to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Following consideration under the recommendation to gradually remove temporary restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU, the Council has updated the list of countries, special administrative regions and other entities and territorial authorities for which travel restrictions should be lifted. In particular, Singapore has been removed from the list and Ukraine,” according to the decision made public on Tuesday.
At the same time, each EU member state has the right to decide “to remove temporary restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU for fully vaccinated travelers.”
As stipulated in the Council’s recommendation, this list will continue to be reviewed every two weeks and updated as appropriate.
The decision was made due to the growth of COVID-19 disease.
Ukraine was included in the list, which is reviewed every two weeks, on July 15.

UKRAINE AND POLAND PLAN TO LAUNCH HIGH-SPEED TRAINS BETWEEN CAPITALS

Ukraine and Poland are planning to launch high-speed trains between the capitals.
“Recently I’ve been to Poland, talked with my counterpart in the Polish government. They support our idea, they are interested in it. They have also figured out that high-speed trains of 300 km+ are super-expensive and definitely not about economy. But as for 250 km+, we completely coincide with them in technical requirements, and now our teams are already starting to work. That is, we have agreements that our Italian company, which is developing a feasibility study, will work with the two railways,” Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said during the Big Construction: New Railway forum in Kyiv.
He also stressed that a preliminary understanding of the cost of the project and its roadmap is expected by the end of the year or in January 2022.
For this project, according to Kubrakov, a preliminary feasibility study is already being developed.

JORDAN AND UKRAINE AGREE ON CERTIFICATE FORM ON EXPORT OF UKRAINIAN DAIRY PRODUCTS

The competent authorities of Ukraine and Jordan have agreed on the form of a certificate for the export of milk and dairy products from Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
“This week we opened another market, namely, the export of Ukrainian milk to Jordan. The competent authorities of the two states agreed on the form of a certificate for the export of milk and dairy products from Ukraine. The concrete result of the joint work of diplomats and specialists of the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection,” Kuleba said at an online briefing on Thursday.
He said that Ukrainian dairy products are of very high quality and therefore are in great demand abroad. According to Kuleba, this is the third certificate agreed between Ukraine and Jordan in 2021.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to systematically open new foreign markets for Ukrainian exporters together with the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection. Each new open market provides additional opportunities for Ukrainian companies, the strengthening of our national currency, the arrival of foreign currency to Ukraine, new jobs, taxes to the budget, the best salaries for our citizens,” he said.
The Foreign Minister said that not only exporting companies will benefit from the expansion of Ukrainian goods abroad, but every citizen of Ukraine involved in economic activity.

PARLIAMENT TO SIMPLIFY GRANTING OF CITIZENSHIP TO FOREIGNERS DEFENDING UKRAINE

The Verkhovna Rada intends to simplify the procedure for granting citizenship to foreigners who protect the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The adoption of the relevant bill No. 5630 at the first reading was supported by 302 MPs at an extraordinary plenary session on Tuesday.
The bill proposes to simplify the procedure for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship by citizens of a state recognized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as an aggressor or occupier who have been persecuted for political reasons, by foreigners and stateless persons who are doing military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and are also directly involved in measures to ensure national security and defense of Ukraine, the containment of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In addition, the final and transitional provisions of the draft law provide for the possibility of submitting a declaration of renunciation of foreign citizenship by persons who received Ukrainian citizenship before the entry into force of this draft law.
