RETAIL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE IN JAN-APR INCREASES BY 7.9%

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in comparable prices in January-April 2019 increased by 7.9% compared to January-April 2018, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, in April 2019 retail trade turnover compared with March 2019 decreased by 2.2%, and compared with April 2018 it grew by 9.1%.
The largest increase in the retail trade turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-April 2019 compared with January-April 2018 was recorded in Vinnysia (by 13.5% compared to the same period in 2018), Kyiv (10.9%), Donetsk (10%), Dnipropetrovsk (9.9%), Lviv (9.9%) and Ternopil (9.9%) regions.
The leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail turnover in the first four months were: Kyiv city (UAH 61.378 billion), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 30.284 billion), Kharkiv (UAH 25.501 billion), Kyiv (UAH 23.033 billion), Odesa (UAH 22.854 billion), and Lviv (UAH 19.878 billion) regions.
According to statistics, in Donetsk region, retail trade turnover in January-April increased 10% (to UAH 10.236 billion), Luhansk – by 6.4% (to UAH 2.999 billion).
The State Statistics Service said that the turnover of retail enterprises (legal entities) in April 2019 compared with April 2018 increased by 9.8%, and compared to March 2019 it fell by 2.2%, to UAH 60.902 billion. In January-April 2019, the turnover of retail enterprises rose by 8.6%, to UAH 231.597 billion.
The wholesale turnover of enterprises in January-April 2019 compared with January-April 2018 decreased by 5.3% and amounted to UAH 680.945 billion.
As reported, the retail trade turnover of Ukraine in 2018 increased by 6.1%.

RETAIL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE INCREASES BY 7.4% IN JAN-MARCH

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in comparable prices in January-March 2019 increased by 7.4% compared to January-March 2018, to UAH 235.804 billion the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, in March 2019 retail trade turnover compared with February 2019 increased by 13.9%, and compared with March 2018 it grew by 8.9%.
The largest increase in the retail trade turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-March 2019 compared with January-March 2018 was recorded in Kyiv and Vinnysia (each by 11.7% compared to the same period in 2018), Lviv (by 9.7%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 9.3%), Odesa (by 9.2%), Kharkiv (by 9%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 8.2%), Ternopil (by 8.1%), Kherson, Zakarapattia and Donetsk (by 8%) regions.
The leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail turnover in the first three months were: Kyiv city (UAH 45.055 billion), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 22.210 billion), Kharkiv (UAH 19.148 billion), Kyiv (UAH 16.828 billion), Odesa (UAH 16.734 billion), and Lviv (UAH 14.724 billion) regions.
According to statistics, in Donetsk region, retail trade turnover in January-March increased 8% (to UAH 7.498 billion), Luhansk – by 4% (to UAH 2.198 billion).
The State Statistics Service said that the turnover of retail enterprises (legal entities) in March 2019 compared with March 2018 increased by 9.5%, and compared to February 2019 by 13.9%, to UAH 61.493 billion. In January-March 2019, the turnover of retail enterprises rose by 8.2%, to UAH 170.695 billion.
The wholesale turnover of enterprises in January-March 2019 compared with January-March 2018 decreased by 5.5% and amounted to UAH 500.32 billion.
As reported, the retail trade turnover of Ukraine in 2018 increased by 6.1%.
The State Statistics Service noted that the data are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the area of the joint forces operation.

UKRAINIAN MONOBANK PLANS TO BRING RETAIL MOBILE BANK TO BRITISH MARKET

The co-founders of retail mobile bank Monobank Dmytro Dubilet, Oleg Gorohovsky and Mykhailo Rogalskiy plans to bring a bank, similar to Monobank, to the U.K. market by the end of the summer of 2019, Dubilet has said in an interview with the Novoye Vremia.Business ezine.
“We are trying to launch a project in England now. It can be called to some extent an analog of Monobank, but there we do it ourselves, without a partner bank. It will be named Koto. Now the key stage of launching a project is obtaining a financial license to be able to run this business independently,” Dubilet said.
According to him, about $1 million has already been spent on the implementation of this project, the project founders plan to invest approximately the same amount additionally.
Dubilet also said that the project is currently at the testing stage. “Now the alpha version is ready, we are engaged in internal testing. I, for example, am already paying for purchases with a Koto card,” he said.
Former top managers of PrivatBank, Gorohovsky, Dmytro Dubilet and Mykhailo Rogalskiy in January 2017 announced their plans to create an IT company, Fintech Band, for the Monobank project. By October 2017, Monobank issued the first thousand credit cards, it began raising deposits in hryvnias in February 2018.
Currently, the Monobank app has two partner banks: Universal Bank (included in the TAS group) and iBox (both are located in Kyiv). The total number of Monobank’s customers is 826,000.

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine in comparable prices in January and February 2019 increased by 6.8% compared to January and February 2018, to UAH 150.913 billion, the State Statistics Service has reported.
According to its data, in February 2019 retail trade turnover compared with January 2019 decreased by 4.4%, and compared with February 2018 it grew by 7.2%.
The largest increase in the retail trade turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January and February 2019 compared with January and February 2018 was recorded in Zakarpattia (by 14.6%), Kyiv (by 11.1%), Vinnytsia (by 10.1%), Lviv (by 9.5%), Ivano-Frankivsk (by 8.9%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 7.9%), Odesa (by 7.8%), Ternopil (by 7.7%) and Rivne (by 7.5%) regions.
The leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail turnover for the specified period are: Kyiv city (UAH 28.781 billion), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 14.208 billion), Kharkiv (UAH 12.243 billion), Odesa (UAH 10.685 billion), Kyiv (UAH 10.627 billion) and Lviv (UAH 9.455 billion) regions.
According to statistics, in January and February 2019 compared to 2018, retail trade turnover in Donetsk region increased by 7.2%, to UAH 4.754 billion, and Luhansk region – by 3.4%, to UAH 1.395 billion.
The State Statistics Service said that the turnover of retail enterprises (legal entities) February 2019 compared with February 2018 increased by 7.9%, and compared to January 2019 decreased by 4.3%, to UAH 53.505 billion. In January-February 2019 the turnover of retail enterprises rose by 7.4%, to UAH 109.203 billion.
The wholesale turnover of enterprises in January and February 2019 compared with January and February 2018 decreased by 5.7% and amounted to UAH 301.309 billion.
As reported, the retail trade turnover of Ukraine in 2018 increased by 6.1%.
The State Statistics Service noted that the data are given excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the area of the joint forces operation.
