As of November 25, 2025, Ukrainian farmers have sown 6.429 million hectares of winter crops, or 98.1% of the projected production area, while on November 26 last year, 6.14 million hectares were sown.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture published on its website, Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.34 million hectares of winter grain crops, compared to 5.06 million hectares a year ago.
At the same time, 4.69 million hectares (4.38 million hectares) were sown with winter wheat, 586,100 hectares (611,100 hectares) with barley, and 66,300 hectares (68,600 hectares) with rye.
Chernivtsi and Cherkasy regions are among the leaders in grain crops. Grain sowing has already been completed in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, and Chernihiv regions, according to the report.
According to the report, as of November 25, rapeseed had been planted on an area of 1.084 million hectares (last year – 1.08 million hectares), which is 96.5% of the projected area. Farmers in all regions have virtually completed sowing.
The Ministry of Economy previously published forecast figures for the area sown with winter crops for the 2026 harvest. Ukrainian farmers are expected to reduce the area sown with winter crops by 5.1% to 5.368 million hectares. At the same time, the area under winter wheat will be reduced by 4.4% to 4.778 million hectares, winter barley by 2.7% to 576,100 hectares, and winter rapeseed by 5.5% to 1.114 million hectares. At the same time, winter rye crops will increase by 7.6% to 69.3 thousand hectares.
As of October 28, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had sown 5.349 million hectares of winter crops, which is 72% of the projected area. A year earlier, on October 22, 5.7 million hectares had been sown.
According to data on the website of the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, winter wheat crops increased to 3.858 million hectares (4.1 million hectares) over the week, barley — to 382,200 hectares (486,100 hectares), rye – to 63.2 thousand hectares (66 thousand hectares) .
“The leaders in grain crops are Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Kirovohrad regions. Poltava, Ternopil, and Chernihiv regions have already completed sowing,” the ministry said.
According to its data, as of October 21, rapeseed has been planted on an area of 1.05 million hectares (last year – 1.05 million hectares).
“The largest areas are in Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Currently, farmers in 14 regions have completed the sowing of winter rapeseed,” the report says.

Agrane Agro Holding has completed the harvest of winter grains and oilseeds in the 2024/25 season on 19 thou hectares in Odesa region, the company’s press service reports.
The agricultural holding specified that it harvested winter wheat from an area of over 6 thou hectares, winter rapeseed from over 7 thou hectares, winter barley from over 4 thou hectares, and winter peas from over 1 thou hectares.
Agrane harvested the crops using modern high-performance machinery, which minimized crop losses, accelerated the pace of work, and maintained high grain quality. The yields for most crops met the targets and in some places even exceeded them, the report says.
It is specified that currently the entire harvest is delivered to Agrane elevators, where it undergoes multi-level quality control and, if necessary, is dried before storage.
“It is crucial for us not only to organize a fast and well-coordinated harvesting process, but also to ensure that the crops remain of high quality. We carefully plan each stage of the campaign – from monitoring crop maturation to logistics and preparing the infrastructure for grain storage,” said Taras Kornienko, Chief Agronomist of Agrane Group.
“Agrain is engaged in the cultivation and storage of grains and oilseeds, as well as livestock farming. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, the agricultural holding included 11 agricultural enterprises. It cultivated about 110,000 hectares in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Odesa, and Cherkasy regions.
The holding is owned by SAS Investcompagnie (France).
The agricultural production department of one of the largest grain market operators in Ukraine, Nibulon JV LLC, has fertilized winter crops on 7820 hectares, which is 48.3% of the total area planted for the 2025 harvest, the agricultural holding’s press service reports on Facebook.
“Currently, we are actively applying ammonium nitrate, one of the most effective nitrogen fertilizers that provides plants with the necessary macronutrients for healthy growth and development. Timely application of this fertilizer significantly affects the final yield of winter crops,” the agricultural holding explained.
Nibulon plans to fertilize a total area of 16.2 thou hectares with ammonium nitrate, including 8.6 thou hectares of winter wheat and 7.6 thou hectares of winter rapeseed. In addition to ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate will be added to improve plant nutrition efficiency.
Currently, winter crops have been fertilized on a total area of 7,820 hectares, including 5,602 hectares in Mykolaiv cluster, 1,970 hectares in Central cluster and 248 hectares in Kamianets-Podilskyi cluster.
After fertilizing winter crops, the fields will be harrowed and plant protection products will be applied.
“The implementation of these agrotechnical measures in the complex will ensure the creation of optimal conditions for the growth and development of winter crops, which, in turn, will help to increase their yield and maintain high quality products,” the agricultural holding summarized.

As of November 19, farmers in all regions of Ukraine sowed more than 6.14 million hectares of winter crops, up from 6 million hectares last week, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.
According to the report, almost 5.06 million hectares were sown with winter crops, which is 98% of the forecast. In particular, winter wheat has been sown on 4.4 million hectares (4.3 million hectares a week earlier), which is 98% of the forecasted area under the crop, barley – on 610.5 thousand hectares (577.8 thousand hectares) and 96%, rye – on 68.6 thousand hectares (68.1 thousand hectares) and 97%, rapeseed – on 1.08 million hectares (1.07 million hectares) and 96%.
Agrarians in 14 regions have completed sowing winter grains, and 12 regions have completed sowing winter rapeseed.
According to the Ministry, the leaders in terms of winter grain sowing are farmers in Odesa – 760 thou hectares, Dnipro – 532 thou hectares, and Mykolaiv – 503.1 thou hectares.
As of November 14, a year earlier, Ukraine planted 5.8 mln ha of winter crops, including 4.022 mln ha of wheat, 506 thou ha of barley, 77 thou ha of rye, and 1.159 mln ha of rapeseed.
Nibulon JV LLC, one of the largest grain market operators in Ukraine, has completed the sowing campaign of winter crops on 16.1 thou hectares, the grain trader’s press service reported on its Facebook page.
According to the report, Nibulon planted 8.6 thou hectares of winter wheat and 7.5 thou hectares of winter rapeseed. These crops are mainly concentrated in Mykolaiv region. According to the development strategy for the agricultural sector in 2024, the area under rapeseed has almost tripled, while winter wheat has decreased by 20% compared to the previous year.
The expansion of rapeseed acreage is due to the high profitability of this crop, which makes it economically attractive even in a changing climate, the agricultural holding explained.
Nibulon noted that in the 2024 season, the agricultural division of the agricultural holding had to take into account unfavorable weather conditions and adjust its work: for the second year in a row, sowing was carried out in dry soil, and the seeds were “preserved” in anticipation of favorable weather.
“In such circumstances, there are risks of provocative precipitation that causes seed germination but is insufficient for plant development and can lead to its death. Thus, we lost and had to reseed part of the rapeseed. But despite these circumstances, the vast majority of seedlings survived, developed and are going into winter in a satisfactory and good condition,” said Oleg Veselov, Director of Agricultural Production at the agricultural holding.
According to him, the situation was resolved by the company’s water-saving tillage technologies, which improved the quality and economy of crops even in conditions of drought and limited access to moisture.
