If the presidential elections were held in Ukraine next Sunday, then incumbent head of state Volodymyr Zelensky would receive 26% of votes among those who intend to take part in the vote, according to the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center from October 14 to 20.
At the same time, according to the study, Zelensky would have received the largest number of votes in the first round (17% of all respondents or 26% of those who will take part in the elections and have decided who they will vote for).
Fifth president, leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko is in the second place, 9% and 14% of respondents intend to vote for him, respectively; leader of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Yuriy Boiko gets 7% and 12%, respectively.
Leader of the All-Ukrainian association Batkivschyna Yulia Tymoshenko gets 7% and 10%, respectively, ex-speaker of parliament Dmytro Razumkov – 6% and 9%, ex-MP Yevhen Muraev – 4% and 6%, Strenth and Honor party leader Ihor Smeshko would get 3% and 5%.
The next in the ranking is leader of the “Ukrainian Strategy” Volodymyr Groisman – 2% of all respondents are ready to vote for him and 3.5% among those who intend to take part in the elections; some 2% and 3% of respondents respectively would vote for leader of the Civil Position party Anatoliy Hrytsenko, for leader of the Radical Party Oleh Liashko – 2% and 2%, for the showman Serhiy Prytula – 1.5% and 2%, for representative of the All-Ukrainian Association “Svoboda” Ruslan Koshulynsky – 1% and 2%, for mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko – 1% and 1% each.
According to the survey, in comparison with the end of July-beginning of August 2021, the electoral support of President Zelensky decreased (from 19.5% to 17% among all respondents). Also, compared to January, the level of Boiko’s electoral support decreased (from 13% to 7% among all respondents), which may partly be due to the appearance of Muraev on the list of candidates proposed to the respondents.
In addition, compared to January, the level of electoral support of Poroshenko decreased (from 12% to 9% among all respondents). From late July to early August, the level of electoral support for Razumkov increased (from 2% to 6% among all respondents).
The research was carried out by the method of “face-to-face” interviews at the place of residence of the respondents. A total of 2,018 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine, with the exception of Crimea and the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to a sample representing the adult population in terms of basic socio-demographic indicators.
The theoretical sampling error (excluding the design effect) does not exceed 2.3% with a probability of 0.95.
The sociological survey was carried out within the framework of research projects carried out by the Razumkov Center with the support of the representative office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine.
Employment of people with disabilities in Ukraine can be based on two models, advisor and presidential envoy on disability issues Tetiana Lomakina said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to her, currently 2 million 2,700 people with disabilities live in Ukraine, of which only 26% are employed.
She also noted that if all employers actually fulfill the 4% quota for hiring people with disabilities provided by law, they will all be employed, but theory and practice are different.
“We talked with companies, with entrepreneurs and found two models. The first is social entrepreneurs – those who, when creating a business, put and continue putting the ideals of society higher than earnings at its foundation. You probably know such examples. For example, Kyiv’s bakery Good Bread from Good People or restaurant in Kharkiv Snow on the Head, where people with mental disabilities work. That is, people initially wanted to do good and after that they formalized it into social entrepreneurship,” Lomakina said.
The second model, as the adviser- presidential envoy on issues of disability said, is the use of international business practices by Ukrainian campaigns.
“The most important thing in such campaigns: the principles of policy, corporate standards, daily routine, the rules are the same for all employees, regardless of whether they have physical or mental disabilities. And if these rules are not respected, the same approaches are applied to all … Such a policy of equality stipulates that a person with a disability may have more needs and the company is ready to meet them, but there are rules, indicators are indicators, the result is a result. And it is in such a situation that all these fears that Ukrainian entrepreneurs talk about (about the difficulties of changing the approach to a worker with a disability, if he does something wrong or he has insufficient qualifications), are simply leveled out by the correct setting of the process of organizing work,” she said.
In addition, according to Lomakina, international campaigns pay great attention to staff training and exploring the capabilities of their employees.
“Their corporate training programs are aimed at closing weaknesses and developing strengths. I am sure that all this is possible in Ukrainian conditions, if we put a person and his qualifications in the center of attention,” she added.
According to her, practice shows that it is this approach that makes it possible to fulfill not even a 4%, but a 6% quota for the employment of people with disabilities.
