KYIVSTAR HAS 10% RISE IN PROFIT IN 2018

The leading Ukrainian mobile communications operator Kyivstar (Kyiv) in 2018 saw UAH 6.802 billion in net profit, which is 10.3% more than in 2017, according to a company announcement on holding the annual general meeting of shareholders scheduled for April 22, 2019.
According to the report, the retained earnings of the company at the end of the year totaled UAH 15.778 billion compared with UAH 16.217 billion a year ago.
“To determine that the accumulated retained earnings of the company as of the end of 2018 are retained earnings that are subject to further distribution in the form of dividends (annual or interim) or any other use as decided by the general meeting of shareholders of the company,” the company said in a draft decision of the meeting.
In accordance with the announcement, at the end of 2018, Kyivstar had UAH 5.2 billion of free cash.
Its noncurrent liabilities for the year increased slightly, to UAH 0.34 billion, while the current liabilities by 80.3%, to UAH 7.78 billion, and the total receivables decreased 23.8%, to UAH 1.03 billion.
In 2018, the company increased its fixed assets by 13.5%, to UAH 8.11 billion, and its total assets increased by 14.1%, to UAH 24.81 billion.
Kyivstar is a Ukrainian mobile communications operator. VEON international group (earlier VimpelCom) is the shareholder in Kyivstar. The group’s shares are listed on NASDAQ (New York).

VITAGRO GROUP TO PURCHASE SEEDLING FARM IN TERNOPIL REGION

Vitagro Group through private enterprise Agrarian Company 2004 (Khmelnytsky region) plans to acquire 95.22% of the shares of PrJSC Skala-Podilsky Rozsadnyk (Skala-Podilsky seedling farm, Ternopil region).
According to a report by Agrarian Company 2004 in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the private company intends to acquire common registered shares of Skala-Podilsky seedling farm in the amount of 1.699 million pieces.
Vitagro unites agricultural enterprises in Khmelnytsky, Rivne, and Ternopil regions. It is engaged in the production and processing of crops, including fruits and vegetables, dairy farming, pig breeding, as well as the construction and repair of roads, production of bricks.
The land bank of Vitagro is about 60,000 hectares.
The owner of the company is Verkhovna Rada deputy Serhiy Labaziuk.

FRANCE’S AIGLE AZUR AIRLINE TO LAUNCH DIRECT PARIS-KYIV FLIGHT FROM APRIL 18

France’s Aigle Azur airline will launch the direct air line between the Paris-Orly and Kyiv-Boryspil airports from April 18, 2019, the airline has said in a press release.
The airline said that the launch of this Paris-Kyiv link joins the other lines already operated in Europe by Aigle Azur. This new route will offer among other things connection facilities for Aigle Azur passengers (and its airline partners), especially those from Brazil, Portugal, and Algeria.
Aigle Azur based in the Orly airport is France’s airline servicing regular and charter flights in Europe and North Africa.

DNIPRO AGRO GROUP RAISES LAND BANK BY 16%, ALMOST DOUBLES ELEVATOR CAPACITY

Dnipro Agro Group in 2018 increased its land bank to 50,300 hectares (16% or 7,000 hectares more), according to the company’s website.
According to the company, Dnipro Agro Group also almost doubled the capacity of elevators, to 124,000 tonnes. In addition, the company launched a pig breeding project for 1,300 animals.
According to the report, in the 2018 marketing year Dnipro Agro Group collected 69.8 tonnes of grain and 76.1 tonnes of oilseeds.
Dnipro Agro Group is a vertically integrated group of companies whose core business is production, storage and sale of grains and oilseeds.

CHORNOBYL NPP ANNOUNCES TENDER TO DISMANTLE SHELTER UNSTABLE STRUCTURES FOR UAH 2.5 BLN

The state specialized enterprise Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) has announced a tender to dismantle unstable structures of the Shelter facility (the old confinement over the destroyed fourth station power unit) with the expected total cost of UAH 2.547 billion, according to data in the ProZorro electronic procurement system.
The deadline for submitting bids is April 15, the auction will take place on May 21, the deadline for providing services is December 20, 2023.
As reported, a new safe confinement, the construction of which began in 2012 after extensive preparatory work at the site, was pushed over the old Shelter. Due to the large size of the confinement, it had to be built in two parts, which were raised and successfully connected in 2015. Inside the confinement arch, a crane is installed to dismantle the existing old confinement and the remnants of the fourth power unit. The new safe confinement has a design working life of 100 years. Its construction cost EUR 1.5 billion.

INGO UKRAINE LIFE SEES 19% RISE IN PREMIUMS IN 2018

INGO Ukraine Life insurance company (Kyiv) collected UAH 30.3 million in insurance premiums in 2018, which is 19% more than in 2017, the company has said in a press release.
“The company consistently maintains the growth pace for premiums collected, retains a leading position in the corporate risk life insurance market, including through new contracts in the segment of not only foreign, but also local companies,” Director General Tetiana Ryzhova said.
The total amount of insurance payment paid by the company in claims for 2018 amounted to UAH 13.3 million, which is 12% higher compared to 2017.
Of these, UAH 4.551 million was paid in cases of death, UAH 3.048 million was paid for disability, UAH 3.178 million was paid to hospitalized and temporary incapacitated persons, and UAH 2.321 million was paid over diseases critical for life of insured persons.
In addition, in 2018, payments were also made on long term endowment insurance contracts for a total of UAH 193,000.
The indefinite life insurance license was obtained by JSC INGO Ukraine Life in November 2007. From April 26, 2013, the company represents the interests of GeneraliEmployeeBenefits (GEB) in Ukraine.
