Indonesia has elected a new president

Indonesia has completed the counting of votes in the presidential election, which resulted in the election of Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto as the new head of state, The Jakarta Post reported on Wednesday, citing data from the election commission.

Subianto has 58.6 percent of the vote – enough for the candidate to be declared the winner of the election without a runoff. His rivals, former Jakarta governor Anis Baswedan, have 24.9% and Ganjar Pranowo has 16.5%.

General elections in Indonesia were held back on February 14. The counting of votes and publication of results in the country takes up to 35 days.

According to the Indonesian constitution, the presidency is limited to two terms.

Road accidents with victims decreased by 6% in 2024 However, number of accidents caused by children continues to grow

Almost 3,000 accidents with victims were recorded in two months of 2024, according to the Patrol Police Department. This is 6% less than in January-February 2021. At the same time, the number of accidents caused by children continues to grow: this year, there are already twice as many such accidents as in the same period in 2021. A quarter of accidents with victims occurred during peak hours: from 5 to 7 pm.

2829 road accidents occurred in Ukraine in the first two months of 2024. This is 6% less than in the same period before the full-scale crackdown. The number of people killed in road accidents also decreased by 13% compared to the same period in 2021.

Almost half of accidents in Ukraine are caused by exceeding the safe speed limit: 42%. Violation of maneuvering rules (18%) and violation of pedestrian crossing rules (9%) are also among the top causes of accidents.

A separate item in the police reports is information about accidents caused by children – their number is steadily increasing. Thus, 33 such accidents have already occurred in 2 months of 2024. This is twice as many as in the corresponding period of 2021 – 14 accidents.

Dnipro region remains the leader in the number of accidents – 290 accidents. The top three anti-leaders also include Lviv region – 247 accidents with victims and Kyiv – 241 accidents.

25% of all road accidents in the country occur during peak hours in the evening – from 5 to 7 pm.

Ukraine did not import semi-finished steel products in January-February 2024

According to statistics, Ukraine did not import semi-finished steel products in January-February 2014, as it did in January-February 2013.
However, in 2023, Ukraine imported this type of product, but in small volumes. In 2023, Ukraine imported 96 tons of semi-finished products from China (98.26%) and Turkey (1.74%), totaling $172 thousand.
At the same time, in 2022, the country imported 5,558 thousand tons of similar products, which is 85.7% less than in 2021.
In monetary terms, imports decreased by 86% to $3.634 mln. Imports were carried out from the Russian Federation (96.92% of supplies before the war), China (1.84%), and Romania (1.21%).

Ukraine increased exports of semi-finished steel products by 3.4 times, with Bulgaria as main market

In January-February this year, Ukraine increased exports of carbon steel semi-finished products in physical terms by 3.38 times compared to the same period last year, to 364.162 thousand tons.

According to statistics released by the State Customs Service on Wednesday, exports of carbon steel semi-finished products increased 3.1 times in monetary terms to $175.088 million.

The main exports were to Bulgaria (33.46% of supplies in monetary terms), Poland (17.70%) and the Dominican Republic (8.21%).

As reported, in 2023, Ukraine decreased exports of carbon steel semi-finished products in physical terms by 36.7% compared to 2022, to 1 million 203.454 thousand tons, while exports in monetary terms decreased by 48.9% to $608.516 million. The main exports were made to Bulgaria (36.66% of supplies in monetary terms), Poland (23.01%), and Italy (9.60%).

In 2022, Ukraine decreased exports of carbon steel semi-finished products by 72% year-on-year to 1 million 899.729 thousand tons in physical terms and by 70.9% to $1 billion 191.279 million in monetary terms. The main exports were to Bulgaria (26.55% of supplies in monetary terms), Poland (13.97%) and Italy (12.13%).

Kholminsky distillery sold at auction for UAH 45 mln

The State Property Fund (SPF) of Ukraine has sold Kholminsky distillery in Chernihiv region for UAH 45 million at an auction in the system “Prozorro.Sales”, which is 2.9 times higher than the starting price, said the chairman of the SPF Vitaliy Koval.

“Three participants competed for the object. Its cost has increased in 2.9 times of the original”, – he wrote in Facebook and added that the FGI will continue denationalization of the alcohol industry.

The head of the FGI specified that the funds transferred by the winner of the auction to the state budget will be directed to the financing of the Defense forces of Ukraine.

According to Prozorro.Sales, the winner of the auction was Terminal Frost LLC.

Specializes in non-specialized wholesale trade, providing financial and consulting services, renting its own or leased property. The authorized capital of the enterprise is 155 thousand UAH. The beneficiary of the enterprise is Anastasia Bashtova.

It is stated that the postal operator or express carrier must submit an additional register of international mail or express shipments if the goods are not subject to export duty or are not subject to restrictions provided for in Article 197 of the Customs Code.

Head of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Daniil Getmantsev in Telegram expressed hope that these changes will help to reduce business costs and speed up logistics.
