Agrotrade agricultural holding company has achieved a record winter wheat yield in the Chernihiv region of 8.4 tons/ha of net weight, or 150% of the planned target, according to the company’s press service on Facebook.
“High yields were also recorded in one of the fields in the Sumy region — 8.15 tons/ha, or 136% of the target. And this is only 20 km from the border with the enemy. This is further evidence of the resilience of our team and the effectiveness of agricultural technologies even in difficult conditions,” the statement said.
Agrotrade emphasized that these results are not accidental, but the result of systematic work. The agro-industrial department analyzed previous seasons, reviewed cultivation technology, and made specific adjustments from nutrition to protection, the release said.
“This year, we have improved our winter wheat cultivation technologies. We used fractional nitrogen application, double fungicide protection of the ear, and complete control of grass weeds across the entire area — this is not a very common but extremely effective practice. We removed all the weeds, leaving only the crop, and this yielded results. In addition, we update our variety portfolio every year, introducing varieties that perform consistently well in our conditions. This season, everything came together: technology, preparation, and weather conditions,” explained Oleksandr Ovsianyk, director of the agro-industrial department at Agrotrade, as quoted in the report.
In the 2025 season, Agrotrade is growing winter wheat on 14,500 hectares in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions. Currently, more than 80% of the production area has been threshed. The winter harvest will soon be complete, the agricultural holding concluded.
The Agrotrade group of companies is a vertically integrated holding company with a full agricultural cycle (production, processing, storage, and trade of agricultural products). It cultivates over 70,000 hectares of land in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions. Its main crops are sunflower, corn, winter wheat, soybeans, and rapeseed. It has its own network of elevators with a total storage capacity of 570,000 tons.
The group also produces hybrid seeds of corn, sunflower, barley, and winter wheat. In 2014, a seed plant with a capacity of 20,000 tons of seeds per year was built on the basis of the Kolos seed farm (Kharkiv region). In 2018, Agrotrade launched its own brand, Agroseeds.

Agroholding Agrotrade has already threshed over 2,500 hectares, which is 14% of the total plan for early crops, with the largest areas processed in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, the agroholding’s press service reported on Facebook.
Agrotrade reminded that in the 2025 season, winter wheat accounts for 85% of the harvest structure, and winter rapeseed accounts for 15%.
“In the Kharkiv region, winter wheat yields have been reduced due to frosts, but the Sumy and Chernihiv regions are gradually evening out the overall picture. We started harvesting on drier plots and expect higher yields on later varieties. Overall, we expect to meet the plan with a slight overrun. Winter rapeseed yields average about 3.5 tons per hectare — despite the weather, the results are in line with expectations,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, director of the agro-industrial department at Agrotrade.
According to him, the best results are in Chernihiv region, where rapeseed yields are 111% of the plan, and in Kharkiv region, where winter wheat yields in some fields are over 5.4 tons/ha, so the plan is being met at 106%.

Agroholding Agrotrade has launched a support program for soybean and rapeseed producers in the 2025 season amid regulatory changes and the introduction of export duties, the agroholding’s press service reported.
According to the report, Agrotrade will help farmers enter foreign markets directly, without intermediaries, and maintain profitability. Agricultural producers are exempt from paying such duties if they sell for export. The program aims to help producers sell their crops more profitably by adapting to new market conditions.
“If a producer sells soybeans or rapeseed to a domestic intermediary for one hryvnia, the intermediary, in turn, exports the product and receives foreign currency. With the introduction of export duties, this model loses its economic efficiency for producers, as the intermediary will offer a lower price to compensate for the duty costs. Instead, the producer can now sell their products directly abroad and earn more,” explained Andriy But, director of the foreign economic activity department at Agrotrade.
The agricultural holding company has offered producers full support for export agreements, from the conclusion of export contracts to logistics and document processing, as well as step-by-step advice in the form of an action algorithm so that producers understand each stage.
The program will be available to all regions of Ukraine. The minimum batch size is 200 tons.
“The Agrotrade Group is actively developing its export business and improving logistics to create new opportunities for Ukrainian agricultural producers. We are paving the way for direct, transparent, and profitable cooperation — helping producers adapt to changes, maintain profitability, and gain knowledge and the ability to export independently and receive foreign currency earnings,” the agricultural holding concluded.

Agroholding Agrotrade has planted peanuts for the second time in the 2025 season as part of a three-year project covering 34 hectares in the Kharkiv region and 5 hectares in the Chernihiv region, the agroholding’s press service reported on Facebook.
“This is a new region for us (Chernihiv region – IF-U) in terms of peanut cultivation. The soil types, moisture supply, and growing season are completely different here. We are deliberately expanding the geography of our crops to see how peanuts respond to different conditions. This allows us to collect a wider range of data and better understand in which areas the crop shows the highest efficiency and stability of results,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, director of the agro-industrial department at Agrotrade.
According to the report, among this year’s innovations, the company has adapted its peanut protection systems based on last season’s results.
“Insecticides have become milder, with more frequent application, which reduces stress on plants, increases environmental friendliness, and allows for more accurate control of the situation in the field. Fungicide and herbicide protection has also been strengthened to avoid last year’s losses,” the report emphasized.
The first shoots have now appeared on the agroholding’s fields. The next stage is crop treatment and monitoring of crop development.

Agrotrade agricultural holding has completed the sowing of industrial hemp, allocating 330 hectares in the Chernihiv region, which is 100 hectares more than a year earlier, the holding’s press service reported on Facebook on Wednesday.
The expansion of production areas in the agricultural holding was explained by the higher profitability of industrial hemp compared to other crops.
Agrotrade also drew attention to the agronomic specifics of hemp: it is sown later than the main crops, and the cultivation technology requires careful preparation.
“The company has been growing industrial hemp for three years in a row as part of a pilot project. This season is the final one. After the harvest, a decision will be made on the future of this line of business. Over the past three years, we have collected enough data to make an informed decision based on economic justification — whether to scale up this direction or close it,” explained Alexander Ovsyannik, director of the agro-industrial department at Agrotrade.

Agrotrade will allocate more than 12,000 hectares for soybeans in the 2025 season. Sowing has already been completed in the Kharkiv region and is ongoing in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, the company’s press service reported on Facebook.
“We plan to complete the main stage of soybean sowing by Monday. In some northern regions, work will continue throughout next week. Soybeans are one of the company’s staple crops, so we are working within a proven system: no changes in approaches, technologies, or crop structure,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, director of the agro-industrial department at Agrotrade.
As reported, the production structure of the agricultural holding in 2025 will be as follows: winter wheat 25.2% of the sown area, corn 24.32%, soybeans 23.58%, sunflowers 17.84%, winter rapeseed 7.4%, mustard 1.02%, industrial hemp 0.56%, etc.
