Agrotrade has completed sowing winter wheat on 15.8 thou hectares

Agrotrade has completed sowing of winter wheat on 15.8 thou hectares in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Poltava regions, which is 4.5 times more than last year, the company’s press service reports.

According to the report, a quarter of the agroholding’s land bank is planted with winter wheat, which is due to the need to comply with crop rotation.

“This season, we completed winter crops sowing very quickly. We prepared for the work thoroughly – we planned the supply and application of fertilizers in advance and made sure that the required amount of seeds was available in our warehouses. So, apart from the war factor, there were no difficulties. We sowed early, and after the recent rains, we already have the first seedlings, which are in good condition,” said Oleksandr Ovsyanyk, Director of Agrotrade’s Agricultural Department.

As reported, the agroholding fulfilled the overall plan for harvesting winter wheat in the 2023 harvest by 110%.

The Agrotrade Group is a vertically integrated holding company with a full agro-industrial cycle (production, processing, storage and trade of agricultural products). It cultivates over 70 thousand hectares of land in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. Its main crops are sunflower, corn, winter wheat, soybeans and rapeseed. It has its own network of elevators with a simultaneous storage capacity of 570 thousand tons.

The group also produces hybrid seeds of corn and sunflower, barley, and winter wheat. In 2014, a seed plant with a capacity of 20 thousand tons of seeds per year was built on the basis of Kolos seed farm (Kharkiv region). In 2018, Agrotrade launched its own brand Agroseeds on the market.

“Agrotrade” fulfilled its grain storage plan by 87%

Plan of stocking of Agrotrade group’s elevators as of mid-March is fulfilled by 87%: the holding’s granaries received 425 thousand tons of grain.
“This year we have the best indicator for the harvesting of early grains, which includes wheat, rape, rye, barley and mustard. It reached 115 percent execution,” the company said on Facebook Wednesday.
She pointed out that the second place is taken by oilseeds: the company’s elevators received 82.5% of the planned harvest of sunflower and soybeans, and the plan to harvest corn was fulfilled by 73%.
It is specified that traditionally the elevators of Agrotrade Group accepted grain both grown on their own farms and from third-party depositors.
It is noted that thanks to the purchase of powerful generators for elevators the Group was able to solve the problem of power supply, which was acute this season.
“In the end, considering all the difficulties, we are satisfied with the results of the season,” Konstantin Vorona, director of the production and technical department of Agrotrade Group, was quoted in the report.

“Agrotrade” exported 500,000 tonnes of grain

Agroholding Agrotrade exported about 500 thousand tons of grain in 2022, including 343.8 thousand tons of its own harvest, 147 thousand tons of agricultural products from third parties and 5.4 tons of organic products.
According to the Facebook page of the agrarian group, it exported most of all wheat and corn, while rye, sorghum, soybeans, rape and barley were also shipped abroad.
“Agrotrade noted that last year, due to Russian aggression, it was forced to look for new export routes, shipping grain by rail to Europe bypassing blocked Ukrainian seaports. However, in the second half of 2022, most of the agricultural products were shipped through the ports of Greater Odessa under “grain agreements.”
“Exports continue, although the grain corridor works very slowly. Up to nine ships per day are served. Exports are slow due to insufficient number of inspections. That is, grain exports could be more intensive if steamships could call at the terminals more often. Taking into account all the difficulties that exporters faced this year, we are satisfied with the results of our work,” Agrotrade quotes its director of foreign economic activity Andrei Booth.
