Former president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma and former chairman of the Supreme Council of Belarus Stanislav Shushkevich have discussed a preparation for holding Baltic Black Sea Forum.
“Today in Kyiv, Leonid Kuchma received Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus (1991-1994) Stanislav Shushkevich. The conversation was about preparations for the seventh Baltic Black Sea Forum,” Kuchma press secretary Darka Olifer wrote on Facebook.
As reported, the first Baltic Black Sea Forum “Through dialogue to trust” was held in Kyiv in 2016. The agreement on the creation of this platform was signed by former statesmen and leaders of Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Russia.
In 2019 Ukraine is required to implement new international tax rules at the legislative level in accordance with its obligations . How not only to lose from their introduction, but also to win – will be discussed by representatives of the authorities, consultants and business at the National Forum “INTERNATIONAL TAXATION: TRANSFORMATION OF BUSINESS” in Kiev on September 20 .
The new government’s strategies and first steps towards changing the rules of international taxation, combined with best-in-class consultancy practices, will be on the focus of the International Forum for International Taxation: BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION 20 September at the Park Inn Hotel in Kiev .
Due to loopholes and inconsistencies in national and international tax law, companies reduce or evade income tax liabilities, which causes Ukraine to lose budget revenues. Ukraine has announced changes to all 77 tax treaties it has signed. Recall that on February 28 this year, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI) .Thus , the new Parliament will immediately submit bills to counteract the erosion of the tax base and profit under taxation.

Ukrainian and Belarusian diplomats have agreed to facilitate preparations for the second Forum of Regions to be held in Zhytomyr in October 2019. Such an agreement was reached during political consultations between Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Yeudachenka, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
In addition, an agreement was reached on preparing for signing the plan of consultations between the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Belarus for 2020-2021.
As reported, the first Forum of Regions of Ukraine and Belarus was held in Gomel on October 26, 2018. It was attended by the presidents of the countries, Petro Poroshenko and Alexander Lukashenko. They decided to hold the second forum in Zhytomyr.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on January 23-24 will make a working visit to Switzerland to participate in the annual World Economic Forum, his press service said. “The head of state will take part in the session on the Strategic Outlook for Central and Eastern Europe and hold a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of international organizations, world leaders, and representatives of leading business circles of the world,” the message says. The president of Ukraine will also chair the second meeting of the National Investment Council, which will be held in Davos.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will take part in the plenary session of the first Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Ukraine, which will be held in Gomel on Friday, the presidential press service of Belarus has reported. “It is expected that President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will also attend the event. Before the participation and speeches at the main platform of the forum, the presidents hold a one-to-one meeting. The main focus of the talks will be on trade development, economic and investment cooperation of the two countries through the prism of the potential of direct contacts at the regional level,” the press service noted.
They also informed that following the results of the forum, the signing of a number of documents and the conclusion of agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in the whole range of areas of Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation are expected.
