H&M TO OPEN FIRST STORE IN KHARKIV

Swedish retailer H&M will open its first store in Kharkiv in May 2021 in new Nikolsky shopping mall, expanding its chain in Ukraine to six outlets, the retailer’s press service said.
The total area of the store is 2,100 square meters, of which about 1,700 square meters are shopping area. This is the sixth store of the chain in Ukraine and the first outside the Ukrainian capital.
“We see a high interest in the H&M brand in the regions and therefore are pleased to announce the opening of a store in Nikolsky shopping center in Kharkiv. I am sure that Kharkiv residents will appreciate both a wide range of goods and a modern store concept,” H&M Ukraine CEO Dominik Fantachino said.
According to H&M, the space of the store will differ from other stores of the chain in Ukraine with an updated interior concept. Buyers can expect a wide range of women’s, men’s, teenage and children’s clothing.

NOVA POSHTA LAUNCHES KHARKIV INNOVATION TERMINAL

Nova Poshta, the leader of express delivery in Ukraine, has launched the Kharkiv Innovation Terminal in a test mode.
The company said this terminal became the fourth innovative terminal of the company in Ukraine and the second largest after the Kyiv Innovation Terminal.
The construction of an object with an area of more than 19,000 sq m lasted 1.5 years. Like other innovative terminals of Nova Poshta, the Kharkiv terminal is equipped with automated equipment from the Dutch company Vanderlande, capable of handling 8,500 parcels per hour. The terminal is also equipped with 31 special telescopic conveyors, with the help of which items are unloaded and loaded directly into the vehicle. The total capacity of the terminal is up to 20,000 parcels per hour.
“Investments in infrastructure is a necessity for the company to effectively sort parcels, the volumes of which are growing significantly from year to year, and this year the figure has already grown by 30%. The opening of the Kharkiv terminal will help us distribute logistics flows in the east and maintain the speed of delivery,” CEO of Nova Poshta Oleksandr Bulba said.
The Kharkiv terminal will sort shipments for Kharkiv, as well as Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
At present, the terminal is operating in a test mode, all processes of Nova Poshta’s terminal logistics are synchronized: the logistics directions and information structure are changing, and the flow of shipments is being distributed.
Nova Poshta plans to launch it on a regular basis next week.

KHARKIV RECEIVES FIRST OUT OF 49 TROLLEYBUSES UNDER EIB LOAN

Kharkiv received the first low-floor, one-section trolleybus out of 49 comfortable trolleybuses purchased under loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
According to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Thursday, October 22, this became possible due to the participation of Kharkiv in the Ukraine Urban Public Transport project, which is a framework loan from the EIB.
As part of the project, the city received a EUR 10 million loan for the renewal of the trolleybus fleet.
“Kharkiv became one of the 11 member cities and has already received today the first low-floor trolleybus out of 49. By the end of the year we hope to conclude an agreement with the EIB on the implementation of the second part of the project Urban Public Transport II, which will provide for the purchase of only environmentally friendly transport. I am sincerely grateful to our partners from the EIB, who support us both in the implementation and in the continuation of this important project for the cities,” Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy said.
Trolleybuses for Kharkiv were manufactured by the subsidiary Car Assembly Plant No.1 of Automobile Company Bogdan Motors.
According to the delivery schedule, 49 trolleybuses will arrive in Kharkiv by the end of 2021. The whole delivery will include 12 two-section and 37 single-section trolleybuses.

EPIDEMIC SITUATION IN VOLYN, ZHYTOMYR, IVANO-FRANKIVSK, LVIV, ODESA, RIVNE, SUMY, KHARKIV AND CHERNIVTSI EXCEEDS CRITERIA FOR EASING LOCKDOWN

The epidemic situation in Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions does not meet the criteria for easing lockdown, the Health Ministry said on its website on Tuesday.
The occupancy of beds, in particular, exceeds the permissible indicator of 53.31% in Lviv region. However, in Odesa and Sumy regions, the dynamics of the spread of the disease exceeds the established value of 10%.
The percentage of disease detection is higher than the established value of 11% in Volyn, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced adaptive lockdown until August 31, 2020, changed the principle of the distribution of regions to strengthen lockdown measures.
Depending on the epidemic situation in the region or individual administrative territorial units-districts, a “green,” “yellow,” “orange” or “red” level of epidemic danger of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease is established.

OPEN LADIES GOLF TOUR TOOK PLACE IN KHARKIV

The third stage of the Open Ladies Golf Tour, which was held with the support of the Ukrainian Golf Federation in the Kharkiv Golf Club Superior, has ended.
Beautiful ladies, in red and white colors of a golf uniform, conquered the golf course, making graceful hits with drivers, woods, pats.
Every time the women’s tournament is a holiday, women just like men play real golf, but they do it in a special way. On Saturday, 22 beginners joined the golfers at the Golf School. Each lady took the first blows under the supervision of professional coaches, and in the end, the beginners competed in a mini-tournament.
The winners and prize-winners of the third stage were: 1st place (handicap 0-36) Kolobova Lyudmila, 2nd place (handicap 0-36) Movchan Elena, 3rd place (handicap 0-36) Tatiana Romanyuk. With handicaps (36-54) 1st place was taken by Elena Pugovkina, 2nd place – Skorubsky Daria and 3rd place – Maleeva Christina.
“Thanks to such tournaments and many innovations from the Ukrainian Golf Federation, the number and ratio of women in Ukrainian golf has tripled. This is an excellent result, which indicates the correct strategy for the development of golf in Ukraine, in particular for women.” – comments Elena Rudik, Member of the Board Golf Federation and Director of the Open Ladies Golf Tour.

METRO REOPENS IN KYIV AND KHARKIV AFTER 2-MONTH PAUSE CAUSED BY CORONAVIRUS

The metro reopened in Kyiv and Kharkiv on May 25 after the two-month pause caused by coronavirus. In Kyiv, the metro service is back to the regular schedule. Passengers are required to wear masks, and there are signs indicating the obligatory 1.5-meter distance between passengers.
Metro workers are provided with personal protective equipment.
The Kharkiv metro reopened at 5:30 a.m. on Monday.
“Please be advised that it is prohibited to travel by the metro without a respirator or a mask,” the Kharkiv metro press service said on Facebook.
The metro service in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro (former Dnipropetrovsk) had been unavailable since March 17 in order to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
