Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Hamburg Mayor Peter Chencher at a meeting in the Ukrainian capital discussed further assistance to Kiev, in particular the issue of providing autonomous emergency communication systems, Klitschko said
“Today met with the first mayor of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg Peter Chencher. Thanked for the support and assistance of Hamburg to the Ukrainian capital. And agreed on further cooperation. We discussed with Mr. Chencher assistance of our German partners in providing Kiev with communication systems for emergency cases (in case of blackout). They are necessary today, in particular, for emergency stations, rescue workers, utilities, “- Klitschko wrote on his page on Facebook.
According to him, the issue of providing Kiev with the latest equipment for the warning system was also discussed.
“Very important for our city is the issue of safety of its residents. Kiev needs equipment for the latest warning system, which we have already begun to install. We are talking about a system for announcing air-raid alarms. To develop this system, we need more devices that work autonomously when there is no light. An example of a system that Kiev is installing now is the German one, among others. The mayor of Hamburg assured further assistance to Kiev – both in the current acute needs and in the future reconstruction of the capital of Ukraine”, – said Klitschko.
In addition, Hamburg has provided Kiev with three city buses as assistance, which are already on their way to Kiev.
Klitschko called on German partners to continue to support Ukraine until victory.
“Vladimir and I also talked to the German media and urged both the German authorities and German society to continue to support Ukraine and provide all necessary assistance for our victory and the establishment of peace in Europe,” said Vitali Klitschko.
As it was reported, Kiev and Hamburg signed the “Agreement for solidarity and future” on April 24, 2022. They agreed on a strategic partnership and support in times of crisis.
As a result of damage to the energy infrastructure, there are water supply interruptions in the capital, Kiev mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.
“There are water supply interruptions in all parts of the capital due to damage to the energy infrastructure. Specialists are working to stabilize the system. Just in case, prepare a supply of drinking and technical water,” Klitschko wrote in his Telegram channel on Friday.
Kiev has deployed more than 400 heating points, most of them are equipped in schools and other social institutions of the city, said the mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko.
“These stations will work every day. Most of them are equipped in schools and other social institutions of the city. If your house has no power supply for more than a day, you can come to the heating point to recharge your gadgets or flashlights, drink tea, find out information about where the water tanks are, where stores and pharmacies are open,” he wrote in the Telegram-channel.
Klitschko added that also “we are working to ensure that for each point the Internet works.”
The Kiev subway has resumed normal traffic after the missile attack on Kiev and a prolonged air alert, the city’s mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
“At some underground stations, where a lot of people have gathered, passenger disembarkation is resumed gradually,” Klitschko wrote in his Telegram Channel on Tuesday.
According to him, due to the accumulation of people at subway stations that worked as a shelter, the “red line” subway trains ran from the station “Akademgorodok” to the station “Arsenalnaya”, but the disembarkation of passengers beyond the station “Polytechnic Institute” was not made.
In turn, the “green line” of subway plied from “Syrets” station to “Druzhby Narodiv” station, as well as from “Osokorki” to “Krasniy Khutor. The “blue line” of the subway was running in normal mode.
“Now the subway is gradually resuming traffic in the normal mode,” summed up the mayor.
Winter vacations in the capital’s schools will start on schedule, from December 26, 2022, Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said.
“But will last a month – until January 27, 2023. During this time, schools will be heated in minimum mode to support the heating system. Teachers, if desired, can go on paid leave for the duration of the vacations,” Klitschko wrote in his Telegram channel.
He noted that in case of emergency, part of the schools in the city will be used for the work of heating points.
The school year will last in the capital’s schools until July 1 – according to the law.
As a result of an enemy strike on critical infrastructure facilities, part of Kyiv has been de-energized, and there is no water supply in some areas, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.
“As a result of attacks on critical infrastructure, part of the capital has been de-energized. There is no water supply in some areas. All services are working. More details later,” Klitschko wrote on his telegram channel on Monday.
