Turkish Airlines will start flying from Mykolaiv to Istanbul from September 23, 2021, Director of the Mykolaiv international airport Fedir Barna said on his Facebook page.
“After lengthy negotiations with one of the world’s largest airlines, Turkish Airlines, I am pleased to announce the opening of a long-awaited regular flight to Istanbul from Mykolaiv airport,” he wrote.
Barna said that flights to Istanbul will be operated five times a week, and tickets are already available on the airline’s official website.
At the same time, there is no destination the Mykolaiv airport on the Turkish Airlines website.
Ocean Shipyard (Mykolaiv) will increase production volumes and intend to take a leading position in the industry, the plant’s owner Vasyl Kapatsyna has said.
“Last year, we finally defended the legal right to Ocean Shipyard. We revived production and diversified our activities in order to maintain the main profile of the enterprise, jobs and modernize technologies. Today I set new tasks for the Ocean Shipyard’s team, namely, increasing production volumes and return of the leading position in the industry,” Kapatsyna said on Facebook.
According to him, a new governing agency has been created at Ocean Shipyard, a supervisory board, which is entrusted with the tasks of strategic planning, the development of international relations, raising investments, as well as partnership programs. Viktor Tsoklan was appointed as head of the supervisory board. In the near future, the supervisory board will focus on development strategies, foreign economic activity, and ensuring public-private partnerships in the defense industry.
“I am also pleased to say that Serhiy Hursky, a shipbuilder of a new generation, has been appointed as Director General of Ocean Shipyard. I believe that the experience and energy of Serhiy Vasyliovych will return Ocean Shipyard to leading positions. I remain the main investor of Ocean Shipyard, the largest shipbuilding enterprise in Ukraine,” Kapatsyna said.
Mykolaiv Shipyard Ocean PJSC (until April 2011 – Vadan Yards Ocean, until December 2008 – Damen Shipyards Okean, until February 2001 – Shipyard Ocean) specialized in the production and repair of container ships, tankers, tugs, barges with a displacement of up to 350,000 tonnes.

Mykolaiv seaport in January 2021 reduced transshipment of goods by 24% compared to January 2020, to 1.99 million tonnes.
According to the website of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, in January the port reduced transshipment of export cargo by 30.6%, to 1.391 million tonnes, increased transshipment of imported cargo by 0.1%, to 516,760 tonnes, transshipment of transit goods by 0.3%, to 28,300 tonnes.
At the same time, the seaport handled 54,320 tonnes of cabotage cargo, a decrease of 21.2% compared to January 2020.
Transshipment of liquid cargo in Mykolaiv seaport in January increased by 29.1%, to 285,400 tonnes, dry bulk cargo decreased by 30.6%, to 1.434 million tonnes, packaged goods decreased by 18.4%, to 270,880 tonnes.
Mykolaiv seaport is located on an area of 97.3 hectares and a water area of 224.5 hectares.
The port has 15 berths with a total length of 2,962 meters.
The distribution chain UkrAgro NPK and Nika-Tera sea terminal (Mykolaiv), both are parts of Group DF, have jointly opened the first agricultural supermarket – a wholesale and retail warehouse store of agricultural products in the territory of the port.
Group DF said in a press release on Friday, July 31, that the outlet is fully equipped for reception, storage, packing and shipment of goods. Its targeted audience includes customers of the port and farmers from Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
“At the beginning, the assortment of products includes various types of nitrogenous and mixed fertilizers that fit various types of package. We plan to gradually extend the assortment by seeds, plant protection agents, and other chemicals. In future we will sell other goods and services that are necessary for farmers, agricultural producers, traders,” Director General of UkrAgro NPK Volodymyr Dovbnia said.
The new outlet de jure is an official representative office of PJSC UkrAgro NPK.
UkrAgro NPK is a large chain of warehouses selling mineral fertilizers in Ukraine. It has been a part of Group DF since 2012.
Mykolaiv seaport in January-October 2019 increased transshipment of goods by 20% compared to the same period in 2018, to 26.951 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, for the specified period the port increased transshipment of exported cargo by 27%, to 21.109 million tonnes, imported goods by 5.1%, to 5.003 million tonnes, cabotage goods by 0.2%, to 838,010 tonnes. Transshipment of transit cargo in January-October 2019 was not carried out.
In January-October, transshipment of liquid cargo in the seaport decreased by 6.3%, to 2.228 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo increased by 24.2%, to 22.044 million tonnes, and packaged goods by 15%, to 2.679 million tonnes.
As reported, Mykolaiv seaport in 2018 raised transshipment of goods by 24.09% compared to 2017, to 29.2 million tonnes.
Mykolaiv seaport in January-August 2019 increased cargo handling by 23.78% year-over-year, to 21.263 million tonnes.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Port Authority, over the period port boosted transshipment of exported cargo by 33.1%, to 16.551 million tonnes, and imported cargo – by 5.62%, to 4.055 million tonnes, while coastal cargo handing fell by 2.6%, to 657,200 tonnes. The port did not transship transit cargo in January-August 2019.
Handling of liquid cargo in the Mykolaiv port decreased 5.04%, to 1.755 million tonnes, dry bulk cargo increased 27.88%, to 17.157 million tonnes, packaged – by 22.86%, to 2.351 million tonnes.

Mykolaiv seaport has an area of 97.3 ha and a water area of 224.5 ha. It is connected to the Black Sea by the Buzko-Dniprovsko-Lymansky canal. The port has 15 berths with a total length of 2.962 km.
