UKRAINIAN FOOTBALL TEAM BEATS SWEDEN AND REACH QUARTER-FINALS OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Ukrainian national football team beat the Swedish national football team with a score of 2:1, reaching quarter-finals of the European Football Championship 2020.
The Ukrainian national football team beat the Swedish national football team with a score of 2:1 and advanced to quarter-finals of the European Football Championship, where it will play against the England national football team, which beat Germany on Tuesday. The match will take place in Rome.
The Ukraine-Sweden match took place on Tuesday June 29 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Ukrainians opened the scoring in the 27th minute. Oleksandr Zinchenko scored on a pass of Andriy Yarmolenko. In the 43rd minute, Emil Forsberg equalized the score.
The winning goal was scored by Artem Dovbyk, it was his first goal for the national team a few minutes before the end of extra time.

EBRD AND SWEDEN PLAN TO PROMOTE SOLID WASTE TREATMENT PROJECT IN LVIV

Тhe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Sweden have issued funds for an information campaign to promote a solid waste treatment project in Lviv, for which the EBRD together with environmental funds allocated EUR35 million. “In Ukraine, more than 95% of solid waste is brought to landfills, 99% of which do not meet EU standards and carry environmental, safety and health risks. In Sweden, in 2018 less than 1% of solid waste was brought to landfills, and more than 99% was recycled,” Ambassador of Sweden Tobias Thyberg said during the official launch of the program in Kyiv.
Within the framework of the project, which is designed for three years, a number of Internet resources will be created, as well as events with mass media, the public and non-governmental organizations will be carried out. The communications agency Noblet Media CIS is implementing the project, and its cost is not disclosed.
“Today, garbage is an element of politics. I would like this issue to be outside of politics,” Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy said.
According to him, after setting fire to the landfill in the Velyki Hrybovychi village, the city has been suffering a garbage blockade for almost two years, and the EBRD and other European partners came to the rescue first. The mayor noted that the city is very interested in the implementation of this project, since it annually has to spend UAH 300 million on garbage removal.

UKRAINE BUYS $68.7 MLN WORTH NUCLEAR FUEL FROM RUSSIA, SWEDEN IN 2019

Ukraine spent $68.666 million on nuclear fuel for its power plants in the five months of 2019.
According to the State Statistics Service, $17.437 million was spent on Russian fuel and $51.229 million on Swedish fuel. Thus, Russia’s TVEL provided 25.4% of its fuel, and Sweden’s Westinghouse 74.6%.

BALTIC BEVERAGES INVEST FROM SWEDEN RAISES STAKE IN CARLSBERG UKRAINE TO 100%

Baltic Beverages Invest AB (BBI, Sweden) has increased its stake in PrJSC Carlsberg Ukraine (Zaporizhia), one of the largest brewing companies in Ukraine, to 100%.
According to a company report in the information disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission, the squeeze-out procedure was completed on June 12, 2019. As reported, Baltic Beverages Invest planned to buy out 12.6 million shares of Carlsberg (1.2% of the number of its shares) for UAH 185 million.
Carlsberg Ukraine in 2018 saw net profit rise by 1.5 times compared with 2017, to UAH 1.634 billion. Carlsberg Ukraine is part of Carlsberg Group, one of the leading brewing groups in the world, whose products are sold in more than 150 countries. Carlsberg Group in Ukraine consists of three breweries in Zaporizhia, Kyiv, and Lviv.

SCANDINAVIAN AIRLINES FROM SWEDEN PLANS TO RESUME FLIGHTS TO UKRAINE

SAS Airline (Scandinavian Airlines, Sweden) plans to resume flights to Ukraine, starting servicing direct Oslo-Kyiv flights from October 2019, according to the Google Flights ticket search engine. SAS’s website is not available for users with Ukrainian IP.
“Congratulations to Scandinavian Airlines on its return to Ukraine after eight years of break,” Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan said on his Facebook page.
Boeing 737-700 aircraft will service the Oslo-Kyiv SAS direct flights between the Gardermoen and Borispol airports with a frequency of three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The plane will depart from Kyiv at 14:00, and from Oslo at 09:30 local time.
“This decision is another reflection of the significant strengthening of Ukrainian-Norwegian relations in recent years, which, in turn, was the result of unprecedented intensification of contacts between people, including mutual trips between Ukraine and Norway,” Ambassador of Ukraine to Norway Viacheslav Yatsiuk said in a posting on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The ambassador believes that there is every reason to expect that the opening of the flight between Kyiv and Oslo will help further strengthen the interaction between the two countries, and the visa-free regime between Ukraine and Norway will contribute to the success of the future Kyiv-Oslo flight.

SWEDEN’S RETAILER H&M, FIRST LASER IMAX CINEMA IN UKRAINE TO BE LEASERS OF OCEAN MALL IN KYIV

A store of Sweden’s retailer H&M, the first laser IMAX cinema and the Silpo food hypermarket will be leasers of the Ocean Mall, which opening is scheduled for late summer 2019, CEO of NAI Ukraine, the broker of the shopping center, Vitaliy Boiko has said. “The shopping center is a five-story building, where the Silpo food hypermarket and IKEA will be located at the first floor. Three floors will be retail galleries, where H&M and Inditex will be presented as well. The large entertainment zone will be over 30,000 square meters with virtual and expanded reality… The important element is the first laser IMAX cinema – the third in Europe, which will be opened jointly with Planeta Kino,” Boiko said at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said that the center with a gross area of 300,000 square meters will have 400 stores.
Boiko said that under the Ocean Mall project the investor is financing construction of an additional transport hub, which would allow unloading the Lybedska Square in Kyiv.
An electric train station will also appear near the Ocean Mall. Ocean Mall is part of the chain of shopping and entertainment centers of Vagif Aliyev. As of October 2018, he owns the following shopping centers in Kyiv: Mandarin Plaza, Lavina Mall and Blockbuster Mall, including those under construction Ocean Mall, Lesnaya Mall and Hippodrome Mall. Aliyev also owns Parus Business Center and the Diamond Hill residential complex.
