“TAS Agro Pivnich” Has Begun Its Spring Planting Campaign

The agricultural enterprise “TAS Agro Pivnich,” part of the “TAS Agro” agricultural holding, has launched its 2026 spring planting campaign, the company’s director, Serhiy Zinenko, announced on Facebook.

According to the report, approximately 13,000 hectares have been allocated for spring crops in the 2026 season. Due to the restructuring of the crop rotation, the focus is on row crops: sunflowers will occupy 10,000 hectares, and corn—3,000 hectares. Currently, the first hectares have already been sown with sunflowers, with liquid complex fertilizers (LCF) applied simultaneously.

The agricultural holding noted that despite the prolonged frosts, snow, and rain, work began according to schedule.

“We clearly understand what we are doing and why. In such conditions, it is important not to lose momentum and to trust the team. Planting is always about responsibility, and this year it is felt especially strongly,“ Zinenko emphasized.

The ”TAS Agro” agricultural holding planted a total of about 40,000 hectares with spring crops in the 2025 season. At that time, 16,000 hectares were allocated for sunflowers, 15,000 hectares for soybeans, and 7,000 hectares for corn. In addition, the company grew industrial hemp (160 hectares) on a trial basis but decided against growing sugar beets.

According to Oleg Zapletnyuk, CEO of “TAS Agro,” the modernization of the machinery fleet and the recruitment of in-house staff allowed the company to sow up to 2,300 hectares per day last year.

The “TAS Agro” agricultural holding was established in 2014. It cultivates approximately 80,000 hectares across six regions of Ukraine. Its specialization is crop production and dairy farming (cattle herd—5,500 head). Elevator capacity totals 250,000 tons. The founder of the TAS Group and beneficiary of the agricultural holding is Serhiy Tihipko.

“TAS Agro” has expanded its sunflower and corn acreage while reducing soybean plantings

The agricultural holding “TAS Agro” increased its sunflower acreage to 24,000 hectares and its corn acreage to 9,800 hectares for the 2026 season, the company announced on its Facebook page.

“This decision is primarily due to the declining economic attractiveness of certain crops and competition from more profitable segments within the production structure. In the 2026 season, we are focusing on a more diversified crop structure and crops with more predictable economics of cultivation,” the press service quoted Vladimir Shil, chief agronomist at TAS Agro, as saying.

According to the report, sunflower acreage increased by 54.8%, and corn acreage by 28.9%. At the same time, the largest reduction occurred in soybeans—by 65.8%, to 5,200 hectares. Due to unfavorable weather in the fall of 2025, the area under winter wheat decreased by 8.7% to 21,000 hectares, while winter rapeseed plantings expanded to 15,300 hectares (+9.3%). In 2026, the agricultural holding will introduce oilseed flax (140 ha) into its crop structure for the first time and will maintain 165 ha of production areas for industrial hemp.

The TAS Agro agricultural holding was established in 2014. Its land bank includes 88,000 hectares in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions. It specializes in crop production; the agriholding’s elevator capacity totals approximately 250,000 tons. The livestock business consists of a herd of 5,500 head of cattle, of which 2,500 head are milking cows.

TAS Agro agricultural holding earned $25.5 mln in EBITDA in 2025, exceeding its target

TAS Agro agricultural holding ended 2025 with EBITDA of $25.46 million, exceeding its financial target by 4%, according to a press release posted on LinkedIn.

“2025 was a real crash test for our team. Despite unfavorable climatic conditions — spring frosts and prolonged autumn rains — the company not only survived but exceeded its financial plan by 4%,” the agricultural holding said, expressing confidence that this was the result of clear synergy between production and commerce.

Agronomic solutions helped the agricultural holding withstand the weather challenges.

“It was technological discipline and moisture-saving approaches that made it possible to achieve yields higher than the market average: wheat — 5.9 t/ha, corn — 9.6 t/ha. Investments of $4.9 million in upgrading the technical park played an important role. This made it possible to get through the peak harvest periods without losses, minimizing the impact of the weather,” TAS Agro emphasized.

According to the agricultural holding, the commercial department ensured high profitability for the year by transitioning from situational sales to systematic position management.

The use of hedging and forward instruments (in partnership with StoneX) made it possible to sell 64% of the next season’s harvest on favorable terms. Effective liquidity management and a record VAT refund of UAH 290 million made it possible to finance operating activities mainly with own resources, the agricultural holding explained.

TAS Agro harvested over 130,000 tons of early grains from 22,000 hectares

The TAS Agro agricultural holding has completed the 2025 early grain harvest, gathering over 130,000 tons of grain from an area of 22,000 hectares, the holding’s press service reported on Facebook.

TAS Agro noted that the average yield of winter wheat was 5.9 tons per hectare, exceeding the planned figures. The best results were in the Northern cluster (Chernihiv region), where the yield reached over 7 tons per hectare.

“The 2025 harvest was a test for all farmers, as rainy weather during the peak harvesting period slowed down the pace of work and could have affected the quality of the grain. However, the agricultural holding used all available resources to ensure the timely harvesting of the crop, and its elevators ensured the timely reception and high-quality storage of the harvest,” said Oleg Zapletnyuk, CEO of TAS Agro.

According to him, 75 grain harvesters and other necessary equipment were involved in the harvest.

According to the CEO, the agricultural holding achieved good results thanks to timely changes in cultivation technology, systematic analytics, and the responsible and coordinated work of all divisions. TAS Agro began the 2026 sowing campaign and soil preparation for winter wheat sowing in parallel with the harvest. As of mid-August, 11,000 hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown out of the planned 16,000 hectares.

The company’s clusters are preparing for the harvesting of late crops and a range of autumn field work. Sunflower harvesting will begin soon in the Southern cluster.
