Ukraine will partially compensate exporters for accrued and paid interest on loans in 2022

The state will partially compensate exporters for interest accrued and paid this year on loans insured by the Export Credit Agency (ECA), the website of the Ministry of Economy reported on Wednesday.

The corresponding decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers at a meeting on August 23.

It is indicated that the state will partially compensate the rate on export credits, which are taken for a period of two to 12 years and amount to no more than 85% of the amount of the foreign economic contract.

Such loans should be used to replenish working capital, purchase equipment, fulfill the terms of a foreign economic contract, and build and reconstruct production facilities.

It is noted that the borrower must be a FOP or a legal entity registered on the territory of Ukraine (except for the temporarily occupied territories), not have open bankruptcy cases and not be in the process of liquidation.

The Ministry clarified that if the borrower violates the terms of interest payment for more than 15 days, compensation will be temporarily suspended.

Club of Experts released overview of events that will take place in Ukraine and world this week

A new video has been released on the YouTube channel “Club of Experts”, dedicated to the announcements of the main events that are planned in Ukraine and the world this week.
In the next issue, the founder of the club of experts Maxim Urakin, together with co-host Olga Levkun, announced the main events, which are scheduled for the period from August 22 to 28, 2022.
Thus, in Ukraine, one of the main events of the week, in addition to honoring the 31st anniversary of Independence, will be the second summit of the Crimean Platform. For security reasons, the summit will be held online. Centravis continues to work in two shifts

PrJSC Centravis Production Ukraine (Centravis Production Ukraine), which is part of the holding Centravis Ltd., operates two lines for the production of pipes under shelling in Nikopol, where the company’s assets are located.

Centravis is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of seamless stainless steel pipes, founded in 2000. Its production facilities are located in Nikopol (Dnepropetrovsk region). Ukrainian ports are ready to load 10 ships as part of “grain initiative”

In the ports of Chornomorsk, Odessa and Pivdenny, 10 vessels are ready to be loaded as part of the “grain initiative”, more than 40 applications are expected to call at Ukrainian ports, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said on his Facebook page in Friday.

According to the Minister of Infrastructure, work is underway to ensure that the volumes and rates of transshipment of agricultural products increase to 3-5 million tons per month.

Kubrakov noted that during the operation of the “grain initiative” 25 ships were sent from the three ports of the Odessa region, with a total of 630 thousand tons of agricultural products on board.

“We pay special attention to food exports for African countries. Another bulk carrier I Maria left yesterday, carrying 33,000 tons of agricultural products for the north of the continent,” he said.

As reported, in Istanbul on July 22, with the participation of the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, two documents were signed on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain and other agricultural products from three Ukrainian ports: Chornomorsk, Odessa and Pivdenny.

UN Secretary General António Guterres, who signed this document on July 22, visits the port of Odessa on Friday, accompanied by Kubrakov.

It is expected that on the same day, also in Odessa, the negotiations of the UN Secretary General with the Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey Volodymyr Zelensky and Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the issue of “grain corridors” for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products will continue.

State-run Naftogaz fails to obtain consent of eurobond holders to defer payments

NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy failed to obtain consent to a two-year deferral of interest payments and redemption on any of its three eurobond issues, the company said on the Irish Stock Exchange.

According to the report, the required quorum (over 2/3) was reached only at a meeting as for eurobonds worth $335 million maturing in July 2022, however, only about 22% of the votes were provided, with the required minimum being 75%.

There was no quorum for the other two issues for EUR600 million maturing in 2024 and for $500 million maturing in 2026, so repeat meetings will be called.

Naftogaz specified that the owners of approximately 49% of the bonds registered for the 2024 eurobond meeting and approximately 74% of the votes were in favor of the Naftogaz proposal.

As for the 2026 eurobonds, which are due in November, about 54% registered for the meeting, and about 43% of the votes were in favor of deferment.

Repeat meetings for 2024 eurobonds and 2026 eurobonds are scheduled for August 31 at 11:00 and 11:15 London time, respectively.

Based on the quorum presented at the initial meetings, it is expected that the adjourned meetings that will be held in respect of the 2024 and 2026 bonds will have a quorum, Naftogaz notes.

Erdogan will arrive in Ukraine in 2 days to discuss steps to end war

During his first visit to Ukraine since the start of Russian aggression, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan plans to discuss possible steps to end the war through diplomacy with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and UN Secretary General António Guterres, CNN Turk reports, citing a statement from the Communications Department. president.

“(…) The meeting will discuss steps that can be taken to end the Ukrainian-Russian war through diplomacy, by activating the mechanism created to export Ukrainian grain to world markets,” the message posted on the website on Tuesday evening reads.

The Milliyet edition notes that Erdogan will visit Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. During the visit, aspects of Turkish-Ukrainian relations at the level of strategic partnership will be assessed.
