KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine needs to build the land market that stimulates the economic development of agriculture, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk has said.
“First we need to decide what the land market will be. Do you think it does not exist? Of course, it is. It exists, but in the way that limits the development of agriculture in the interests of those who now use it. No one thinks about the interests of people,” he said at a briefing.
The minister said the current situation with the land market in Ukraine is formed only by about “twenty” influential people, although many Ukrainians are owners of land.
According to the minister, the formation of a modern land market will facilitate the creation of new jobs in the agricultural sector.
KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has passed a resolution on reconstruction of four substations of national energy company Ukrenergo in Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions with a total cost of EUR 150 million using funds raised from Germany.
The document has been approved at a government meeting on Wednesday.
The substations would be reconstructed under a Ukrainian-German project on construction and development of infrastructure in eastern Ukraine. Its cost is EUR 500 million.
Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk said that the sides have agreed the issue. At the end of this week the Finance Ministry will discuss the credit rates with German colleagues.
KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Antonov State Enterprise (Kyiv) is preparing the re-equipment of Ukrainian An-124-100 Ruslan and An-225-Mriya heavy transport aircraft by tires made by Britain’s Dunlop Aircraft Tyres as part of the program to replace Russian spare parts.
The press service of the enterprise reported that recently An-124-100М-150 aircraft with new tires was tested.
“The test program included flights with 340 tonnes, 360 tonnes and 402 tonnes with various upper alignment indicators. Taking off and landing within the expected conditions of exploitation were made. The tests confirmed a high quality of tires designed by Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd. Specially for Ruslan and Mriya aircraft under the order of Antonov State Enterprise,” the press service said.
The state enterprise said that leading specialists of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Ltd. took part in the tests, including Director of OE Business Martin Pye.
Antonov President Oleksandr Kotsiuba said that Antonov has been successfully cooperating with Dunlop Aircraft Tyres in the An-148/An-158 regional jet family program and seeks to develop partnership for re-equipment of An-124-100 Ruslan aircraft fleet. He said that the products of the British manufacturer have several advantages: they are certified under EASA requirements and have an acceptable price.
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Municipal enterprise of Kherson Regional Council Kherson Airlines that manages Kherson International Airport is expecting that UAH 5 million would be provided from the national budget by the end of this year. The fund would be sent to reconstruct two taxi tracks and the building of the airport, Acting Director of Kherson Airlines Hryhoriy Usyk gave the information to Interfax-Ukraine on the sidelines of Tavrian Horizons ninth international investment forum held on September 30 through October 1, 2016 in Nova Kakhovka (Kherson region).
He recalled that Kherson airport this year received UAH 14 million from the national budget to reconstruct and enlarge the runway to 2.5 km. This would allow the airport to service various aircraft.
Usyk said that the airport’s top managers this year held negotiations on the launch of flights to Belarus, Poland, Lithuania and Uzbekistan. It is planned to launch charter flights to Egypt and Israel in the winter navigation period.
He said that the airport services daily flight from Istanbul performed by Turkish Airlines at Аirbus-319 with 124 seats. The average loading of the flight is over 80%.
“We are pleased with cooperation with Turkish Airlines. Our partnership with them is not accident. Istanbul is not only the interesting destination for tourists and businessmen for residents of southern Ukraine. The airport of Istanbul is a good point for switching to other flights for tourists and businessmen to travel to any country. With our help our citizens have become more mobile and have a chance to travel and move at cheaper rates,” he said.
Usyk said that the Kherson airport services not only residents of Kherson, but also passengers from Mykolaiv, Odesa and those residents of Crimea and foreigners who observe the regime for visiting the peninsula across the territory under control of Ukraine.
In January-September 2016 the airport serviced 16,000 passengers.
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has sent a draft trade and economic cooperation program for 2016-2019 to Turkmenistan, Turkmen Ambassador to Ukraine Nurberdy Amanmuradov has said.
“We have received the draft for this year from Ukraine and the trade and economic cooperation program for 2016-2019,” he said at a meeting of Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman with ambassadors of Central Asian countries in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He said that in 2016, Ashgabat will host the fifth meeting of the intergovernmental Ukrainian-Turkmen commission in 2016.
KYIV. Oct 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A first display test auction to sell assets of insolvent banks was held on Tuesday as part of preparations for the launch of the pilot operation of the ProZorro.Sales system (http://www.prozorro.sale/).
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that the sponsor of designing the system was Western NIS Enterprise Fund: the project is being implemented on the principles of the ProZorro e-procurement system with support of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund, Transparency International Ukraine and the National Bank of Ukraine.
It took four months to design the electronic system: the pilot auction precedes holding trading sessions with real assets scheduled for late October.
The procedure for selling the assets from the registration of a lot to online trading, selection of the winner and loading of the sale agreement was tested. The test has confirmed the ProZorro.Sales system’s readiness for real trading.
“We can say for sure that we are ready for the launch,” ProZorro.Sales Project Head Oleksiy Sobolev said.
The accreditation of the platforms for the pilot project is underway.
