A public literary and psychological discussion titled “Masculine and Feminine: A Dialogue Through the Texts of Chingiz Aitmatov and Contemporary Realities,” dedicated to the work of Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, took place in Kyiv under the patronage of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine, according to the embassy’s press service.
“For many Ukrainians, Taras Shevchenko is the voice of the nation. For many Kyrgyz, Chingiz Aitmatov is its intellectual and humanistic face,” said Idris Kadyrkulov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Ukraine, in a comment to the agency during the event.
According to the diplomat, through Aitmatov’s works, the organizers sought to introduce Ukrainians not only to Kyrgyz literature but also to the humanistic values of the Kyrgyz people—respect for others, mutual support, love for loved ones, and responsibility.
The event was organized by the civic platform MÜTEŞEM QIRIM (MQ Community) and was dedicated to International Family Day. Participants began the meeting with a moment of silence to honor the memory of fallen Ukrainian soldiers and civilians.
As part of the event, a video message was shown from the writer’s son, Askar Aitmatov, who expressed support for the Ukrainian people and noted their resilience during the war.
The practical part of the discussion was led by psychologists Gennady Mustafayev and Katerina Goltsberg together with civic activist Leniye Ibragimova. The participants analyzed Aitmatov’s novellas “Jamila,” “My Little Poplar in a Red Scarf,” and “The Red Apple” through the lens of contemporary social challenges, family relationships, and personality psychology.
The event also featured Ukrainian-language editions of Chingiz Aitmatov’s books, an exhibition dedicated to Central Asian culture, and a portrait of the writer by People’s Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Perevalsky.
The organizers emphasized that the event served as an example of cultural diplomacy and humanitarian dialogue between Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan amid the war.
Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine have agreed to introduce unified transit permits for freight transport. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
The relevant intergovernmental agreement was signed on May 15 of this year at a meeting of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission in Astana. It provides for the introduction of a single transit permit form in all five countries.
The document will allow carriers to cross the territories of several participating states using a single form without additional documents. The decision aims to eliminate administrative barriers and speed up transit.

Tax revenues from Kyrgyzstan’s virtual asset market in 2025 exceeded the fees from the country’s largest commodity market Dordoi (Bishkek), according to data and comments published by regional media with reference to official statistics and industry participants.
According to the Financial Market Regulation and Supervision Service, in 2025, the budget from the market of virtual assets received almost 1.7 billion soms in taxes, with virtual asset service providers (exchangers and exchanges) providing 1.48 billion soms, and mining companies – 206.17 million soms.
The regulator also records a sharp increase in the scale of operations: the total turnover of virtual asset service providers in 2025 amounted to 2.735 trillion KGS with more than 2.12 million transactions, with over 94% of the turnover formed by exchange operations. The report indicates that 82 exchange operators and 5 crypto exchanges were registered in 2025, while mining activities, according to the finnadzor, have been effectively suspended since December 2025 and companies submit zero reporting.
On Thursday, an official ceremony was held at the presidential administration in Bishkek, attended by the head of state, Sadyr Zhaparov. During the event, participants symbolically pressed the launch button, after which 50 million USDKG tokens were released into circulation on the Tron network, each of which corresponds to one US dollar and is fully backed by gold reserves.
According to the report, USDKG is designed as a transparent, secure, and stable digital currency that combines the reliability of gold with the efficiency of blockchain technology. The launch of the stablecoin should strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s position in the global financial ecosystem and lay the foundation for the development of Web3 infrastructure and decentralized services through which government agencies and businesses will be able to interact based on blockchain solutions.
The presidential administration notes that the new instrument is designed to increase the country’s investment attractiveness by creating conditions for capital inflows and technological partnerships. The authorities expect that the availability of a stablecoin backed by real assets will strengthen confidence in financial innovations and demonstrate the possibility of combining digital tools with material support in the interests of sustainable economic development.
The issuer of USDKG is JSC “Virtual Asset Issuer” with 100% state participation. The ceremony was attended by Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Finance Almaz Baketaev and the company’s CEO Biibolot Mamitov, as well as representatives of the Gold Dollar project, who are involved in the technical and international aspects of the stablecoin’s implementation. In official materials, the project is positioned as the world’s first state-owned stablecoin backed by physical gold and pegged to the US dollar.
In the Suzak district of the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan, construction has officially begun on major railway facilities for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
As part of the construction of this railway, three tunnels with a total length of over 10 km are planned to be built, including: Tunnel No. 1 Naryn (Jaman-Dawan) – 12.5 km; Koshtoba (Kazarman) tunnel – 13.2 km; Fergana mountain tunnel – 12.2 km. The total length of this railway project is 532.53 km.

The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Ukraine celebrated the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region with a solemn event held at the National Library for Children in Kyiv. The central event was the summing up of the All-Ukrainian Children’s Drawing Contest dedicated to the works of Chingiz Aitmatov, timed to the 95th anniversary of the great writer.
The contest brought together more than 1.5 thousand children from all regions of Ukraine. Of these, 113 participants who passed the regional qualifiers were awarded prizes from the Embassy. The event was attended by more than 30 finalists and winners together with their parents, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations, political and public figures of Ukraine. Representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora also took an active part.
Askar Aitmatov, President of the Aitmatov International Issyk-Kul Forum, addressed the participants with a special video message. As part of the celebrations, young artists who came to Kyiv received valuable gifts, and adults who made a significant contribution to the popularization of Turkic-language literature were awarded medals from the international organization TURKSOY and the Aitmatov Foundation.
The Embassy presented a unique almanac, which includes the best children’s works. The publication is planned to be handed over to educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and the European Union, contributing to the dissemination of the cultural heritage of Chingiz Aitmatov and strengthening ties between peoples.
During the event, the importance of cultural diplomacy as a powerful tool for strengthening friendly relations between countries was repeatedly emphasized. The event was well received by the Ukrainian media, becoming an example of successful interaction between the two nations through art and literature.
The contest was an important step in popularizing Turkic-language literature, including the works of Chingiz Aitmatov, in Ukraine. It also contributed to strengthening cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine by emphasizing the role of art in intercultural dialogue.
The event was held in compliance with all security measures appropriate to wartime conditions and demonstrated the importance of cultural cooperation in difficult times.
