RETAIL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE 14.9% DOWN IN APRIL 2020

Ukraine’s retail trade turnover in April 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 in comparable prices decreased by 14.9%, while in March it grew by 6.1%, the State Statistics Service has reported. According to the service, in April, compared with March 2020, retail trade turnover decreased by 23%.
In January-April 2020 compared with January-April 2019, retail trade turnover increased by 3.2%.
The largest growth in the retail turnover of enterprises (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) for the four months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019 was recorded in Kyiv (by 10.5%), Zaporizhia (by 9.8%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 8.6%), Odesa (6.7%), Volyn (6.3%), Kirovohrad (5.3%), Kharkiv and Donetsk (4.9%), Poltava (4.5%) regions.
The service recalls that the data are given without taking into account the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol, part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

RETAIL GOODS TURNOVER IN UKRAINE IN MARCH SLOWES TO 6.1% YEAR-OVER-YEAR IN COMPARABLE PRICES

Retail goods turnover in Ukraine in March 2020 slowed to 6.1% year-over-year in comparable prices, the State Statistics Service has reported.
In January-March 2020 compared with January-March 2019, retail trade turnover decreased 10.6%, while in March 2020 compared to February 2020 it increased by 4.4%.
The largest increase in the retail turnover of enterprises (legal entities and private entrepreneurs) in March 2020 compared with March 2019 was recorded in Kyiv (by 15.3%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 15%), Kharkiv (by 14.9%), Zaporizhia (by 14.8%), Kirovohrad (by 13.9%), Poltava (by 12.8%), Volyn (by 12.6%) and Odesa (by 12.4%) regions.

LARGEST GROWTH IN RETAIL TURNOVER IN JAN-SEPT IS RECORDED IN VINNYTSIA, TERNOPIL, KYIV

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-September 2019 in comparable prices increased by 9.8% compared with January-September 2018, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to the report, in September 2019 compared with the previous month, retail trade turnover decreased by 3.3%, in annual terms grew by 8.6% (September 2019 from September 2018).
The largest growth in retail turnover in January-September 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 was recorded in Vinnytsia (by 17.6%), Ternopil (by 16.9%), Kyiv (by 15.7%) regions and Kyiv (by 14.7%).

RETAIL TRADE TURNOVER IN UKRAINE 10.1% UP IN JAN-JULY 2019 – STATISTICS

Retail trade turnover in Ukraine (legal entities and individual entrepreneurs) in January-July 2019 in comparable prices increased by 10.1% compared with January-July 2018, the State Statistics Service has said.
According to its data, in nominal terms the volume of retail trade for the seven months of this year amounted to UAH 594.314 billion.
In July 2019 compared with the previous month, retail trade turnover rose by 4.8%, in annual terms (July 2019 to July 2018) by 9%.
The largest growth in retail trade turnover in January-July 2019 compared to the same period in 2018 was recorded in Vinnytsia (18%), Ternopil (17%), Cherkasy (16.2%), Odesa (15%), Kyiv (by 14.5%), Khmelnytsky (by 13.4%), Dnipropetrovsk (by 12.5%), Donetsk (by 11.6%), Luhansk (by 11.3%) regions and in Kyiv (by 14%).
According to the statistics agency, the leaders in absolute terms of the volume of retail trade turnover for the seven months of 2019 were Kyiv city (UAH 115.506 billion), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 47.1 billion), Odesa (UAH 45.353 billion), Kharkiv (UAH 44.846 billion), Kyiv (UAH 44.199 billion), and Lviv (UAH 36.425 billion) regions. In Donetsk region over this period, retail trade turnover rose by 10.3% (up to UAH 19.122 billion), in Luhansk region by 11.3% (up to UAH 5.425 billion).
