USDA increased the estimate of the corn crop in Ukraine by 1.5 million tons

In its September report, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased the forecast for the harvest of Ukrainian corn in 2022/2023 marketing year (MY, July-June) by 1.5 million tons compared to August, up to 31.5 million tons from 30 million tons, and its export estimate has been raised by 0.5 million tons to 13 million tons from 12.5 million tons.
According to a report on the US Department of Agriculture website on Tuesday, the estimate of domestic corn consumption in Ukraine has been increased by 1 million tons – from 10.5 million tons to 11.5 million tons.
In the new forecast, the agency also raised the forecast for wheat production in Ukraine in 2022/2023 MY by 1 million tons – up to 20.5 million tons from 19.5 million tons, while the estimate of its exports remained at the same level – 11 million tons. At the same time, the forecast for its domestic consumption in Ukraine has also been increased by 0.5 million tons – up to 5.5 million tons from 5 million tons.
“Forecast of production (wheat – IF) in Ukraine increased by 1 million tons, to 20.5 million, as the harvest is almost completed, and government statistics indicate higher final yields in the forest and forest-steppe zones,” the Ministry of Agriculture said in a report. USA.
In addition, the forecast for carry-over stocks of wheat at the end of the current marketing year has been increased – from 4.24 million tons to 4.71 million tons compared to 5.84 million tons at its beginning.
According to the report, in general, the forecast for the feed grain harvest in Ukraine for 2022/23 MY was increased by 1.5 million tons – up to 38.96 million tons from 37.46 million tons, and its export – by 0.5 million tons, up to 14 .83 million tons from 14.33 million tons.
As reported, from the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year and until September 9, Ukraine exported 5.29 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, which is 1.94 times less than the previous marketing year. The country supplied to foreign markets 3.17 million tons of corn (2.37 times more than in the same period in 2021/2022 MY), 1.65 million tons of wheat (3.6 times less), 447 thousand tons of barley (6 .7 times less) and 15.6 thousand tons of flour (1.7 times less).

US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE REDUCES ESTIMATE OF WHEAT CROP IN UKRAINE THIS YEAR BY 2 MLN TONS

In the July report, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reduced the forecast for the harvest of Ukrainian wheat in 2022/2023 marketing year (MY, July-June) by 2 million tons compared to June, to 19.5 million tons, while the estimate of its exports is kept at the level of 10 million tons.
“Production in Ukraine is reduced by 2 million tons to 19.5 million due to a reduction in acreage, as indicated in the statistics provided by the government of the country,” the US Department of Agriculture said in a report released on Tuesday.
According to the document, the assessment of domestic wheat consumption in Ukraine was reduced by 1 million tons – from 11.2 million tons to 10.2 million tons, including for feed – from 6 to 5 million tons, follows from the USDA July report.
In addition, from 6.01 million tons to 5.24 million tons, the forecast for carryovers at the end of the current marketing year was reduced compared to 5.84 million tons at its beginning.
The US Department of Agriculture in the new forecast kept the forecast for corn exports from Ukraine in 2022/2023 MY at the level of 9 million tons, and its harvest – 25 million tons. At the same time, the forecast for its domestic consumption in Ukraine was also left at the same level of 10.7 million tons.
According to the report, in general, the forecast for the feed grain harvest in Ukraine for MY 2022/23 remains at 31.76 million tons, and its exports at 10.83 million tons.
As reported, Ukraine in the marketing year 2021/2022 (MY, July-June) exported 48.51 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, which is 8.4% higher than in the previous marketing year, despite the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and difficulties with the export of agricultural products from -for the blockade of Ukrainian seaports.
In general, in MY 2021/2022, the country supplied to foreign markets 18.74 million tons of wheat (12.6% more compared to the same date in 2020/2021MY), 23.54 million tons of corn (+1.9%), 5 .75 million tons of barley (+35.9%), 70.9 thousand tons of flour (-44.1%).
The wheat harvest last year amounted to 33 million tons, feed grain – 53.5 million tons, including corn – 42.13 million tons.

USDA FORECASTS PRODUCTION OF WHEAT IN UKRAINE AT 33 MILLION TONNES

In its September report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) kept the forecast for the production of Ukrainian wheat in the 2021/22 year (July-June) at 33 million tonnes, and its exports at 23.5 million tonnes, which is in line with the Department’s forecast published in August. In the September report, the USDA also kept the forecast for the corn harvest in 2021/22 at 39 million tonnes, and its exports from Ukraine at 32 million tonnes.
As reported, from the beginning of 2021/22 and as of September 10, 2021, Ukraine exported 10.29 million tonnes of grains and legumes, which is 12% more than on the same date of the previous year. Some 5.92 million tonnes of wheat were exported (4.1% less than on the same date 2020/21), 2.99 million tonnes of barley (a rise of 24.7%), 1.34 million tonnes of corn (2.2 times up); 24,700 tonnes of flour (33.7% less).

USDA IMPROVES FORECAST OF GRAIN EXPORTS FROM UKRAINE

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in January improved the forecast for grain exports from Ukraine in the 2020/2021 agricultural year (July-June) by 0.2 million tonnes compared to the December forecast, to 45.81 million tonnes with a yield of 64.21 million tonnes due to a reduction in consumption estimates.
According to the ministry’s monthly report, this concerns crops such as barley, oats, rye, millet and sorghum, while the forecast for wheat and corn is kept unchanged.
In particular, the U.S. Department of Agriculture expects the export of 24 million tonnes of corn with a harvest of 29.5 million tonnes and exports of 17.5 million tonnes of wheat with a harvest of 25.5 million tonnes, respectively.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in the previous agricultural year Ukraine exported 16.02 million tonnes of wheat with a harvest of 25.06 million tonnes, 30.32 million tonnes of corn with a harvest of 35.81 million tonnes, and in general, grain exports amounted to 50.09 million tonnes with a harvest of 69.56 million tonnes.

USDA REVIEWS DOWNWARDS FORECAST FOR EXPORT OF UKRAINIAN RAPESEEDS TO 2.7 MLN TONNES

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reviewed downwards its forecast for exports of rapeseeds from Ukraine in the 2019/20 agricultural year (September-August) by 0.1 million tonnes compared with the August forecast, to 2.7 million tonnes.

According to the September report, published on the USDA website, the forecast for the export of Ukrainian soybean meal was reduced by 0.2 million tonnes to 0.7 million tonnes due to stronger domestic demand.

In general, the forecast for the export of oilseeds from Ukraine in September was reduced by 0.1 million tonnes compared to the forecast in August, to 4.75 million tonnes, meal exports – by 0.2 million tonnes, to 5.8 million tonnes, while at the same time, the forecast for the export of vegetable oil remained at 6.3 million tonnes, oilseed refining – at 17.15 million tonnes.

As reported with reference to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, in 2018, Ukraine harvested 13.7 million tonnes of sunflower, 4.4 million tonnes of soybeans, and 2.6 million tonnes of rapeseed.

USDA IMPROVES FORECAST FOR CORN EXPORTS FROM UKRAINE TO 25 MILLION TONNES

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in September improved its forecast for corn exports from Ukraine in the 2018/2019 marketing year (MY, July-June) by 500,000 tonnes compared with the August forecast, to 25 million tonnes. According to a report on the website of the U.S. department, the forecast for corn harvest for 2018 has been maintained at the level of 31 million tonnes.
The USDA also kept the forecast for wheat exports from Ukraine in the 2018/2019 MY at the level of 16.5 million tonnes with the yield standing at 25.5 million tonnes, which corresponds to the figures released in August.
In general, the U.S. agency downgraded its forecast for grain harvest in Ukraine by 400,000 tonnes, to 65.2 million tonnes, raised that for exports by 300,000 tonnes, to 45.96 million tonnes.
As reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine predicts the increase in grain harvest in 2018 by 1.1 million tonnes compared to the previous year, to 63.1 million tonnes. Grain exports in the 2018/2019 marketing year are projected to be 42 million tonnes.
